Bend To Mend Physical Therapy
Naturopathic and science-based, intuitive and insightful, sensible and spiritual, this therapeutic experience will help you to love being in your body again. Whether you want to decrease pain, improve motion and flexibility to stiff joints and muscles, recover from an injury, or optimize performance, I can help you.

Relax, realign, enjoy freedom of movement and freedom from pain with an effective and healing hands-on approach. Sure I can go to a doctor, receive a pill, and cover up the problem, but I want to solve rather than medicate. If you agree, Carri is your PT. Carri has skills that go well beyond the realm of physical therapy as I had previously known.
Services
My patients tend to seek an alternative to traditional physical therapy and are looking for a progressive, educational and full-body approach to care. I believe strongly in the ability of the human body to self-heal with just a mindful push in the right direction. I offer a wide variety of treatment and care options to address the many complexities of physical dysfunction.
When I run by myself, I am able to focus on the bio mechanics of my breath and athletics. When I run with my dog Modo, I am able to focus on something else that I find important, but of course hard to describe. Here I go. Modo, with the stick in his mouth, seems. I hope we can all practice breathing and athletic biomechanics while having amazing discoveries about our own process.
Carri has skills that go well beyond the realm of physical therapy. It's her visceral work that really surprised and impressed me! I have had problems with my liver for many years and the work she did with me have brought my liver counts down lower than they have been in a very long time! The information below will help to make your first visit with me a pleasant and positive experience.
Carri Kaplan offers a variety of physical therapy techniques including massage, orthopedic manual therapy, cranial sacral, visceral manipulation, exercise rehabilitation, running biomechanics, yoga and personal training. At Bend to Mend physical therapy, each patient is treated as an individual regarding their specific presentation, rehab goals and optimal route for rehab.

Carri is a PT genius! She always is able to figure out what is wrong and make it better. I have referred many others to her and they have all said the same!! She is not your"typical" PT as she goes beyond just giving reps of exercises to do..she goes deeper into the structure of your body to assess the underlying issues. Recently she helped me figure out how to run correctly without causing low back pain. It's in process but I now have hope that at age 70 I can continue to run!!

I am so extremely happy to have found Carri. With joint inflammation and mobility issues, it is not easy to find a PT who can help improve my condition. Carri's use of PT methods, especially visceral manipulation have benefited me in only a few sessions. Such awesome work. She is incredibly knowledgeable and intuitive.

I've been going to Carri since 2013 due to what I thought was an unfortunate injury, but now I find it more like serendipity. Like other patients, I have been to so many different people and decided that there is a certain limit anyone can go. Then I met Carri...wow, due to her vast schooling, experience, and gifted intuition, I have learned more about my body than ever before. I now know the things I was doing to compound my issues instead of help them. I know how to listen to my body and manage myself more effectively. If you are looking for the same cookie cutter approach (go into a physical

Carri is the most caring, compassionate, and attuned physical therapist I have ever worked with (and I have worked with many over the past two decades in CA and WA)! She was the only PT who gave me neck exercises that has helped reduce my neck stiffness immediately at the first signs of neckache. Her visceral manipulation work was wonderful and relaxing. I truly appreciate her attunement, patience, diagnostic and therapeutic skills. I have referred my partner and colleagues to her. I have been working with her on and off for the past two years and will always go back for any injury or maintenance

Carri is a great therapist! She has skills that go well beyond the realm of physical therapy as I had previously known. She helped me recover from a back injury as well as prepare for running a half marathon; this is what I would have expected. It's her visceral work that really surprised and impressed me! I have had problems with my liver for many years and the work she did with me in combination with acupuncture have brought my liver counts down lower than they have been in a very long time! I HIGHLY recommend looking into the services Carri provides here at Bend to Mend!

I love going to Carri at Bend to Mend because I always feel better! She's an expert and she takes insurance including medicare! I suffer from lower back issues causing chronic pain when I stand or walk. No physical therapist has EVER helped me! As I watched a friend improve under Carri's care, I decided to give her a try. Holy Cow want a difference! Carri watches me "walk" and recommends specific exercises to help me. She also does Visceral massage, a deep kind of massage which has really improved my walking and reduced my pain. AMAZING! Give her a call, she might really be able to help you too

I have lateral lumbar stenosis in my low back with several herniated discs. I recently had a horrendous episode of my back going out with stabbing electrical pains and was just dying! Carri worked me in immediately and by the time I walked out of her office I was standing upright and not having pain spasms! It was miraculous! Its 3 weeks later and I am pain free!
I honestly don't know how to thank her enough!!!

I have had excellent results in dealing with two separate injuries. Carri has remarkable intuition and insight into body mechanics. She thinks and figures out the root cause. She listens well and incorporates a lot of different inputs in designing treatment. Her recommended exercise programs are concise and effective. I really appreciate this as I do not have a ton of time for a long series of exercises. Without a doubt she is the best PT I've found.

Began working with Carri after being referred by my doctor 5 weeks ago. Walking was painful and my balance uncertain. Between the sessions with her and the exercises she gives me to do at home, I am in less pain and doing some walking at home without my cane. I am hopeful for more improvement as we continue to work together.

Phenomenal! I am still in shock at how quickly Carri resolved my (extreme) back pain! I had been to 4 PT's, a Physiatrist & a Sports Medicine doctor for my back over the last 2 years with barely any improvement and an incorrect diagnosis. (2 PT's actually made me much worse!) I had been in a MVA 9 years ago that apparently caused herniated bulging discs in my low back. This injury resulted in sudden onset Lateral Lumbar Stenosis & agonizing pain. I could no longer do normal activities like standing and folding laundry let alone go for a walk. After only 3 visits I was completely pain free and started

Carrie has a sixth sense for finding the root of the problem. I've been to many PTs over the years and she is without a doubt the most skilled. Her goal is to help you recover and stop seeing her. Her techniques are unique and successful, and of course there are exercises for you to do at home. She is the Big Fish in a sea of not so good little fish. You will wonder why all the other physical therapists aren't as in tune with the human body as she is. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I had to update progress I've made after going to Carri Kaplan for physical therapy. Gone are the days when I am incapacitated after straining something without exactly knowing what I was doing. I can honestly say that due to her vast knowledge she has taught me enough about myself that I know my limits which enables me to become stronger, more mobile, and free from chronic pain. In addition, I don't think I have even averaged visiting her once a month, because her technique and guidance is so effective. She is NOT about the money. She really wants to help people heal. She's highly

Wait what do you mean you are not going to bring me in a dozen + times to "assess" my problem? Oh it's because you know what you are doing and not trying to rack up a bill. Recently I went in for a knee issue and my own diagnosis of the problem ( come on you know you've diagnosed health issues on Web MD) and Carri Kaplan (the most energetic and dynamic human I've ever seen packed into such a small frame) set me straight. Bonus? She use to be a massage therapist. Another bonus? She use to teach yoga. So in my three appointments I really received 6 sessions. Sure I can go

Carri was awesome! I love her down to earth sensible approach, strong hands and holistic approach to handling my shoulder issues. I'm a competitive beach volleyball player who came to Carri with serious pain in my shoulder. Through several sessions, Carri fixed my pain, gave me exercises to strengthen weaker muscles and helped me analyze how my hitting arm swing needed to be changed. After about 6 visits, my shoulder feels great and I'm back to playing many times a week/competing. I loved that she was an athlete too and could relate to the frustration of an injury keeping you from

I went to Carri for a problem of tingling in my thumb and upper arm pain. It was so painful I did not want to ride my bicycle. I had gone to chiropractic and massage and nothing helped. I was beginning to think my biking days were over. Three months later my arm is much better no more tingling. I am riding again and so thankful to be doing so!

Carri Kaplan is a great physical therapist! She has a balanced and blended approach that includes massage-like techniques, visceral manipulation, targeted body work, stretches, and of course, plenty of "homework" exercises to do on your own to help you get better. I highly recommend her if you are in pain! And, I almost forgot to mention, she is a very caring individual who takes the time to get to know her clients.

"After 6 months of low-grade lower-back pain as a result, I think, of a big climb, I had three very painful "therapeutic" massages, laid off much of my workout routine and did lots of yoga. None of it really helped. Then my trainer recommended I see Carri Kaplan at Bend 2 Mend. After 2.5 hours of pain-FREE treatment from Carri, I'm thrilled that I have no more pain and total flexibility in my back. Carri is kind, compassionate and an exceptionally great, holistic practitioner." -Andrea, Seattle, WA

"I was referred to Carri by my Chiropractor for stubborn neck pain issue. She worked with me providing not only hands on therapy but gave me exercises to do at home. Her holistic approach was very much appreciated & I got amazing results. I learned so much from her & will go back to her the instant I need physical therapy for any future issues. I have also recommended her to friends who have expressed a need for PT. I cannot say enough about her skills. My experience with her was phenomenal."

Carri Kaplan, the owner of Bend to Mend Physical Therapy is amazing! She is so knowledgeable about how everything in your body works together. Carri was recommended to my husband by our doctor for debilitating back pain. She has worked with my husband for about six weeks and the results hve been amazing! He is so much more comfortable now.

Carri combines many different therapies, she is trained as a massage therapist as well as a physical therapist, and she is able to combine her knowledge in multiple disciplines to treat the whole person. She sends you home with exercises that are easy to
