David became intrigued with jewelry-making while watching his stepfather, Charlotte jewelry designer Guy Cheng, at work. Guy provided him with a bench, some basic tools, and instruction on how to work metals into pieces of art. A decade of working with jewelry as a hobby led David to a professional jeweler career in San Jose, California.
Eventually Vermont called him back, and in 1983 David started his own business providing repair, design, and manufacturing of jewelry to the greater-Burlington residents. Finally, in 1997, David took ownership of Designers' Circle where his technical skills and knowledge have helped countless people design and maintain their jewelry.

Services
We are owned by our Goldsmith, so you can rest assured your valuable pieces are not being sent out for repair. David has over 40 years experience, and Dolores has over 30. In David's workshop we have a laser welder, which allows us to repair your fine jewelry in different ways. The laser creates a finely focused beam which welds noble metals to themselves, removing the need for solder.
Our circle of designers have a combined experience of over 80 years. Dolores' pieces are timeless, displaying her innate sense of elegance, with a hint of vintage inspiration. Jovana's designs push the envelope, dancing with light and exploring geometry, while David's mastery of metal is unsurpassed.
Our Co-Owner Dolores Kurjan does all of our appraisals in-house. Dolores is an appraisal expert, with specialized knowledge about antique/estate jewelry. You may rest assured your pieces will remain in our possession throughout the appraisal process. We offer a full Insurance Appraisal, which may be used to add an item to your insurance policy.
We ship all our completed pieces through USPS, insured with required signature on delivery. We will contact you at the time of shipment with tracking information and an estimated delivery date if applicable.
