At Red Bell Preschool in Plymouth, MI we believe children learn best in a fun, active, hands-on environment. Relevant learning experiences, interactive teaching and active discovery are the most effective ways to foster a love of learning. Our curriculum addresses age appropriate social-emotional and cognitive development.
Red Bell Preschool was founded by the Hackney family in 1957 and has been owned and operated by them ever since. The school started out in a small farmhouse. A separate school building was built in 1967. The owner has always lived in the house attached to the school which gives him the ability to oversee the program and operation of the school.

Services
Primer preschool is a 3 or 5 morning a week program and runs from 8:45am - 11:30am. Students must be toilet trained to attend our school. Primer preschool offers a hands-on, developmentally appropriate environment for our littlest learners to thrive! Children learn by touching, feeling and doing. We will investigate and answer lots of "why" questions in Primer Preschool.
Our comprehensive curriculum focuses on 8 content areas. Each month's theme is incorporated into each of these content areas daily. Our curriculum is aligned with the Plymouth/Canton schools, preparing our students for Kindergarten and beyond. Our Preschool program is a 3 or 5 morning a week program and runs from 8:45am - 11:30am.
Our Pre Kindergarten program is a 3 or 5 day a week program which runs from 8:45am -11:30am. We also offer before care and after care. Students in Kindergarten are expected to learn to read, perform basic math functions, master handwriting, listen attentively for long periods of time and function with ever increasing levels of expectations.
This is open to any child and available for no extra cost, we just ask that your child arrives prior to 8:00 am. Lunch is provided for all of our full time students. If you have a child who attends our half day program you are more than welcome to sign up for our LUNCH BUNCH program. We provide a well balanced, nutritious lunch that was made right here in the Red Bell kitchen.
Red Bell Preschool Summer Camp offers fun and exciting weekly themes, outdoor adventure, water days, snacks, handcrafted lunches and a highly qualified and professionally trained staff. In the summer we take the classroom outside with a lot of summer fun on our one-acre playground. Red Bell Summer Camp offers weekly themes, 3 field trips a week, healthy snacks, handcrafted lunches and a highly qualified and professionally trained staff.
