Montessori is an approach to working with children that is carefully based on what we've learned about children's cognitive, neurological and emotional development from several decades of research. The Montessori approach has been acclaimed as the most developmentally appropriate model currently available by some of America's top experts on Pre-primary through elementary education.
Each summer we offer a fun filled full time and educational summer program for student's 12 months - 12 years. Each week has a theme like theater, authoring books etc. along with science, Spanish immersion, and Montessori classroom instruction. Before Care: 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. School: 8:45 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.

A school where we observed more attention and love are provided to the students. The students are treated as friends. Attention and observation by the teachers towards are the kids are really awesome. As a parent we felt very happy in gifting an healthy environment which is fully of positive energy.

We loved Banyan Montessori Academy! From the hands-on learning environment to the multicultural events, our daughter learned from the teachers as well as the other students. She also presented in front of the class each month on a topic that interested her. Banyan has a fantastic curriculum, teachers, and administrator!

This school has very clear and positive leadership. In my opinion, the director Mrs. Shiva does an excellent job of balancing the business aspect associated with running a for-profit school with the philosophy of “educating the whole child”. This is not always easy when running a private school with an eye on the market for survival. I do not mean to take credit away from the teachers there who are great, but despite the teacher turnover (an unavoidable collateral of running a for- profit school) that happened while we were there, there was no significant turbulence. My husband and I are both teachers, and we how valuable a quality education is. We searched throughout Livonia, Canton, and surrounding communities for the best school for our son, and we definitely found it here. The teachers are the best! They are loving and supportive of each student. Lessons address the development of motor skills, language, music, literacy, peace, and health. Our 2 year old loves having music and yoga instruction in addition to the Montessori program. This school is definitely the best!!
