The Center for Transportation and the Environment (CTE) is a member-supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that develops, promotes, and implements advanced transportation technologies, vehicles, and fuels that reduce environmental pollution and fossil fuel dependency.Since 1993, CTE has managed a portfolio of over $530 million in team research, development, and demonstration projects.

In partnership with the U.S. Departments of Defense, Energy, Interior, and Transportation, the U.S. Armed Services, and NASA, among many others, CTE and its members work together to improve transportation technologies and fuels while reducing their environmental impacts. Our members are industry and community leaders that are eagerly bringing forth clean technology solutions and transforming the way we move people.
We are our projects. Our in-house engineers, planners, and project managers have created a proven approach that makes complex projects, in varying topographies and climates, a success. For the past 27 years, CTE has worked on the cutting edge of vehicle technology to drive the industry to adopt lower carbon solutions.
