Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) is a type of transportation service that is provided in a non-emergency situation. The goal of a non-emergency medical transportation is to safely transport the elderly, disabled, and anyone that is medically challenged to drive from one location to another.
As a patient, it's normal to feel anxious, scared, nervous and vulnerable about an upcoming procedure. Most procedures require patients to take sedatives before the procedure. For outpatient surgeries, this means you need a designated driver to take you home.

You'll need to make transportation arrangements and decide who will drive you to your appointment, who will be your appointment companion to provide you with support, and decide who will drive you back home. It's natural to want or even expect your family or friends to take you to your procedure.

Very helpful, polite drivers and ontime.
Very hard to find accessible service in Atlanta. If you Google it they will tell you yellow cab but even though it's on their website if you call they tell you it's not available.
So I called several others and finally Ride Aid was the only service that was available. They are about twice the price of a taxi. They sent a mini bus vehicle. I have a mobility scooter which I hadn't traveled with before, previously rented from Scootaround so didn't need transportation. I arrived on Southeastern Stages to the bus station, which is an area that needs cleaning

We used Ride Aid to transport my wheelchair bound mother to a wedding 35 minutes away. We were very nervous about the trip because my mom does not always travel well. Bill our driver, showed up early and let me know he was there. He waited patiently for us and was extremely professional and gentle when loading my mom in her wheelchair into the van. He drove cautiously and smoothly and my mother felt great when we arrived. (She is often motion sick so this was an amazing feat!) I highly recommend Ride Aid and will definitely use them again.

All details of working with Ride Aid were excellent. Abel is easy to get in touch with, and clearly communicated what we were going to pay and how his driver and caregiver were going to take care of my mom during transport. He encouraged a family member to ride with them, which was very comforting to me and my family. Our driver, Mr. Larry, was excellent. He showed patience and caring, making sure my mom was secure in her wheelchair during all movements. And our caregiver, Mona, was the most caring, patient caregiver I have ever encountered. She made my mom happy, which makes the rest of our family

Wonderful company...our driver was extremely kind and polite and willing to help anyway he could. He showed up promptly on both ends. This was my mothers second time using this service and he was very gentle and encouraging. I highly recommend them for transporting someone in a wheelchair. We found trying to transport my mom to a car was just too difficult.
