We came here based on the fact that the hotel is 100 years old. I love vintage. Our first room the tv did not work so we were moved to another room. Both rooms were clean and definitely vintage. Our second room was bigger and laid out a little differently. Yes, the walls have been repaired and the tiles have cracks in them. The floors are wood and creak. It’s an old hotel! People obviously live there. I did get the AHS vibe and maybe I am a vampire now, who knows? But I don’t recall anything coming out of the bed to kill me, so I think I am good.

Didn't even stay because when I arrived late in the evening after making a reservation online with Agoda.com for a late check in there was no one at the desk. Four other people were waiting and informed me of the lack of employees when I walked in. After about 20 minutes of sitting in a sketchy lobby that reeked of stale smoke, while people who clearly lived there came in and out, one of the locals volunteered the information that "they" [the hotel] do "this" [I assume leave the desk unattended but accept reservations for late check ins] all the time, and he recommended we look for somewhere else

I enjoy coming to the Riviera whenever the airbnbs don't have availability for the dates I need I'm guaranteed a room at the Riviera any day anytime. I always make this my spot especially if I need somewhere to go right away. It's not a five-star hotel but it's decent ,clean nice, and the price is affordable and right for me. The people at the front desk are also nice. I'll always come back here. I guess I can say it's one of my Happy Places.😀

Terrible response to emails. Booked through Agoda. Sept 23 at 11:52pm because my flight was cancelled. I later got a new flight next day. I called, no response. Tried email to cancel on Sept 24 12:46am no response. My cc was still charged!!! FYI Agoda donest show "no cancellation" until after you book!

After a 6 hour drive and just wanted to rest and shower before I flight in the morning is the reason for booking this hotel. NEVER AGAIN!
From the pictures online it looked very nice. BUT once there... Not a nice area (sorry not from NJ so no offense), parking lot was hard to find... found it and it's fenced in with barb-wire running along the top. You have to get out to press a button to have them open the gate, same to exit
Good thing we were only on the 2nd floor, did not have to go to far up. Room had 2 double beds, no bed bugs... MADE SURE TO

This place looks like a bargain at first, until you check in and notice Cockroaches everywhere, and I mean everywhere. I Understand that this isn't the best part of town but there's no excuse for a room full infestation of German cockroaches. I found a great deal online for a 2 night stay but Beware of deals, if it's too good to be true it usually is too good to be true. I only recommend this place if you have no problem with cockroaches running onto your bed, onto your toothbrush, and running around freely as if they also paid thier fair share for the room. If I can give this place

I'm a 20 y/o female and stayed here alone for a week. It's really not that bad. Close to the PATH. All the reviews freaked me out, but really... it was cool. I like the character of an older hotel. It may be in a little bit of a rough area but no one bothered me at all. The room had such a cool view as well. Could have been a little cleaner, and I did notice things moving around when my room was cleaned, but nothing was taken. I'd give it another shot.

Booked this online. Pictures looked great and it was near downtown, so I didn't read the reviews. Big mistake. Great old building in very sketchy neighborhood. The parking lot is fenced in by barbed wire. An aggressive panhandler accosted me outside. No thanks. I booked another hotel at the airport. Lost $85. Stay away.

Listen people please SAVE UR MONEY U WOULD RATHER SPEND MORE MONEY THEN TO STAY HERE, I was forced to stay here due too housing situations and I promise you I'd rather go to a shelter OMG upon entering to pay and check n for a room the lobby guys has a bulletproof window and looks like he was picked from the corner to do the job next there's drug addicts that actually lives here!!! I slept with things at the door I was nervous someone was gonna come in everything I left out the room I took everything with me ... the picture isn't what u think it is!!!! They even have someone braiding

The area is not safe, when we got there we didn't want to come out of the taxi because the hotel was different from the pictures on the Internet.
We called and the receptionist put us on hold and later on she hung up, and we called again and they never picked up the phone.
They charged my credit card for the hole amount. If I could, I would give this place a big negative 10 stars. It was not pretty, safe, or trustable.

Can you say CRACK HOUSE? sure I knew you could, and after visiting this place you'll know exactly what that phrase means. I had a reservation for my family and I for two nights and when I arrived I was so discusted by the place I refused to even get out of the car. There were bags of trash piled up all around the building, huge rats running all over the place and the neighborhood was so sketchy they were actually switching license plates on stolen cars right in front of the hotel.

WARNING!!! If after reading this you still end up going to this hotel you deserve what you get.
This is a flea bag hotel. It's more like a hostel. My thinking is that this was once a fancy schmancy hotel turned nice pre war apartment building turned welfare hotel turned TRYING their best to be 3 no scratch that 2 stars.
I couldn't believe I was there. It was horrible. Patched holes in the wall, horrible blinds. Lamp with a taped up cord. And I had to take the sleeping pill because just the thought of sleeping on that bed!!! What would a blue light have unveiled!!!
And what woke me up

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in my entire life. The rooms did not have heat, hot water and bed were full of bed bugs. The manager was very rude with handling any type of business. Very poor and ran down establishment. Did not receive a refund from my terrible bed bug experience. I was also charged $40 to send a forgotten photo item. $18.75 from the post office sending the photos and $20 for handling through the hotel. Avoid at all costs!
