Dr. Zhong has been treating patients for over 30 years. As Dean of Academic studies and Professor of Clinical training for the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, he has supervised the development of most of the acupuncturists in the Houston area. He continues to contribute to the the field of Oriental Medicine through his many articles, lectures and books.
I first began seeing Dr. Ellen when I developed a frozen shoulder and my Western doctor recommended that I just wait it out (12-18 months) or see a surgeon. Because Ellen looks at the body differently than Western practitioners, she was able to treat the condition and help me regain the use of my arm more quickly.
Having first originated as a form of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is growing to be increasingly popular in the Western hemisphere. This method of healing has been proven to relieve pain and reduce the severity of symptoms from numerous chronic diseases. As it comes with few side effects, acupuncture is a safe procedure for many people.
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, has been part of Traditional Chinese Medicine going back to 1200 AD, very fine needles are placed into strategic locations on the face in order to stimulate many of the muscles of the face that shape and control facial tone and skin firmness. The results are the relaxing of wrinkle producing tension and the pulling up of loose skin areas.
Cupping therapy is typically used for different types of pain, common colds and viruses, inflammatory conditions, blood flow problems, relaxation and well-being, and finally as a type of deep tissue massage. First written about in the fourth century A.D., early cups were made from hollowed out animal horns and bamboo.

Dr. Gong is the best. I hurt my shoulder moving twice in three months. In six weeks my shoulder was completely well. I considered my weekly acupuncture sessions therapy as she gently guided me to think differently about my body. Dr. Gong really cares about her patients. I came to her for fertility issues. We had several miscarriages with no successful pregnancies. I am now 20 weeks pregnant due to her care and treatment. I became pregnant right at the beginning of COVID and Dr. Gong went out of her way to make sure that I stayed safe and healthy. Even when many businesses were closing, she kept our appointments because she knew it was a very critical time in my pregnancy. Dr. Ellen Gong is a healer. I have had issues with red skin on my neck for years. My adrenaline felt as if it was stock on high all the time. Stomach bloat had gotten out of control,and blood pressure kept rising. On the first acupuncture treatment I had results that were amazing. From the moment I read Eastern Balance’s reviews, I knew I just had to go there. I don’t know if you’ve ever had the experience of going to an MD (or more than one) and explaining what is going on with your body to have them tell you “I don’t believe in that” or “That’s not a thing.” It’s very crushing. I have EMF Sensitivity issues. Which means that when they did the 5G rollout in Houston and installed all these antennas while we were in quarantine, by the time they started opening up the city, I suffered so much. A true hidden gem. Dr. Gong is sincere and very professional - a true master of her craft!. She genuinely cares for me and my family. This place is absolutely the best! It took a couple years for a co-worker to talk me into going. Now, I am completely hooked! it started with a shoulder issue and Ellen treated me for that issue. But, when she treats you for one issue, she looks at the whole package. Mental and physical. I go every three weeks now, but i take her herbal tea daily and a couple other supplements. It can help short term but long term it is a way of life. You would be surprised how much you change in three weeks. :-)
