NuVision Images, located in Pittsford, New York, was established in 1998 to fill a clear gap in the professional photography offerings in the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes area. The founder and owner of the business, Richard Ashworth, sold his first photograph at age 13. Since then he has worked in a number of different specialties, including portraiture, corporate and architectural photography.
As a small business, you don't have the luxury of a professional photographer on staff, and your needs (and budget!) are too modest to contract with a large commercial studio - even if you could find one in the local area. Still, you need affordable, high quality, professional images for brochures, websites, advertisements, newsletters, trade displays, press releases, proposals and reports.
Business naturally revolves around people. Especially in a small business, the people are crucial to acquiring and retaining customers, and the owners and staff are the main determinants of the company's image. As you look at others' websites, brochures and display materials, I'm sure you see many cases where the photographs portray a poor, inappropriate or bland image.
The following guidelines are intended to create consistency in business image and to ensure that photographs are suitable for reproduction in a wide variety of media - electronic, print and display. Please agree on the degree of formality in dress, and all conform to it. It is fine to all be in business formal, business casual or casual attire, but not a mixture of these in one group photo or in a matched set of individual portraits.
Maybe you're a builder, remodeler or decorator and your business directly revolves around buildings and landscapes. Maybe you just need to introduce your customers to your business headquarters or publicize a company expansion into a new facility. Maybe you're advertising a tourist location or accommodation.
