John and Martha Peterson opened Precision Auto Body & Painting in 1987. In the beginning, it was just the two of them-John did the repairs and Martha handled the paperwork. In their first month they repaired 5 cars. Today, Precision Auto Body is the premier collision repair facility in Santa Barbara County, with over 30 employees at 3 repair centers.
If you've been in a collision that renders your vehicle unsafe to drive, we can help. Give us a call and we will coordinate a tow to our facility. We can also arrange a rental car for you so that your life isn't on hold while your vehicle is in the shop. We've negotiated a great rate with a major rental car provider for our customers.
Estimates are free and you do not need an appointment. Our hours for providing estimates are Monday to Friday from 8am - 5pm, and you can come by whenever is convenient for you. The process takes about 15 minutes. We'll take photos of your vehicle, obtain your contact and insurance information, and provide you with a printed estimate.

Monday of last week took my car to be fixed after being rear ended . New car !. Anyway , after dropping off car , my son who lives with me tested positive for covid so we are in quarantine. My car was done Friday . Spoke to a young lady did not get her name . So very nice . Explained my situation . She said someone would call me back Gabe called me and told him I could leave my house and did not want to infect the staff . He were so very understanding and had my car delivered . The gentleman who delivered my car , I did not ask his name I should have , was so kind and professional . This was not

We called ahead of visiting and were told to bring in the car, no appointment needed. We arrived early on a Friday morning and were told that there were no technicians available, and to bring it back tues-thurs at 9am and a technician would then be available. En route we called to check if there was space available and were told there was not.
Really poor standard of service - we were not offered an appointment at any time and told to just bring it in. 2 hours wasted on driving to and from this place due to their disorganization.

I am especially grateful to both Luis and Scott for their help with my car. My car was repaired, and Luis told me my car would be cleaner than it ever has been and it’s true! It feels and looks amazing. They even took the time to remove unrelated scratches and dents from my car. Everyone at Precision is so professional, helpful and thorough. I highly recommend this place!

I took my car in after getting rear ended, and I assumed they had done a great job until later when somebody told me the license plate lights were not working. I called them about it, they asked me to come in and after checking the car the representative wanted to put the blame on me. They were full of excuses as to why they were not responsible for a job not well done. They then proceeded to say that they needed to submit a new ticket to charge the insurance extra for the wiring that was supposed to be done right the first time. These are supposed to be professionals, but apparently they did not

I have taken my car into this shop twice. The first time was to get it serviced after a truck hit the side of my car. The rental process and dropping off and evaluation was all easy enough, but when I went in for the second time is when their service was really exceptional. I went in because my dad and I noticed while detailing my car that the paint they had put on my car was dull. Even though this was about 7 months after the accident and repair, they were eager on the phone for me to bring my car in and I took it in the next morning. It was super easy and they redid the paint for free, as well

I recently needed my car repaired and Gabriel did a great job!! He stayed in contact with my insurance company and made your they processed my estimate so my car could be repaired. Precision Auto Body made my car look like it was brand new, I’m so impressed. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to my family & friends. Great Job Guys!!

I took my car into Precision after being in a minor accident. Their shop was one of many suggested by AAA, the other driver's insurer. I'm relatively new to Santa Barbara so I took the recommendation and I'm happy I did. Everyone I dealt with was extremely professional and friendly. Scott, in particular, was always available, happy to address any concerns, and totally transparent about everything that would need to be done to my vehicle.
