Room was a decent size and the sheets and towels were clean.
Unfortunately the floors and some of the dishes in the kitchen area weren't all that clean and the mattresses were less than desirable.

Close to the airport, easy access to hit the road to start your adventures. Palms was a throw-back of the sixty. structurally an older building, barbary coast balcony front, designed with that nostalgia look and feel.

Room was neatly cleaned with clean towels and bath accessories, tv, a/c and mini frig. It was a no frill, no pool place but safely located in walking distance to reasonable local coffee house, street large artworks and restaurants (saimin, Vietnamese, sports bar, breakfast, box lunches, hair salon).

It's 3.5 star hotel. Mid range cost. I liked it.

I stayed in room 22 and it had everything you'd need. The A/C was nice as it was on remote, though I couldn't get the TV remote to work. The TV was a first generation flatscreen I think but you got used to it fast. The room was a bit small but it still had a kitchen sink, microwave, fridge, and coffee maker. It also had dishes, too.
It was one of the most affordable places I could find on Kauai and in as good of a location as any. I think bus service could take you mostly anywhere if you plan right but are ready to wait. Parking could be tight at times...the roosters were a real downer in the

Typical older motel. Parking was a little difficult. Facilities are pretty much not existent. Good for a quick stay over. We checked in late and left before the sun came up. Bed and towels seemed clean.

We stayed here twice at the end of October- around our timeshare dates. For a budget hotel- we were very impressed! It was clean and the rooms were perfect for what we needed- a nice bed and a shower in between our adventures on Kauai. It is close to a few great places to eat and a laundromat in case you want to do some laundry before you go home or dry off your swimsuits before you pack for your trip home! The staff were very friendly and the contactless check in was perfect to keep everyone safe during COVID. You can't go wrong staying here as a base for your holiday on Kauai!

If you're looking for a beach resort from this hotel, you're not going to get it.
What you WILL get though, is far better.
The building is just BEAUTIFUL. You step back in time here. It truly is tranquil.
The rooms are very clean. I needed to switch rooms half way through my stay to accommodate prior reservations, so I can say I was in two rooms, both were very clean.
The crew here was so very warm and welcoming. Allison was who I saw the most, and she's really a wonderful young woman.
You will be within walking distance of many of the dining experiences Lihue has to offer, and there is a

Best value per dollar. Rooms are a little tight but nicely maintained. The AC kept the room cool, free laundry, and touches check in/out. No more coffee because of COVID.

Cramped,no A/C, leaky shower and paper thin walls. Yes the price isn't very high but I would have certainly paid more if I had known there wasn't even air conditioning on the top floors! The king size bed was hard and uncomfortable, there were also no outlets to plug in phones near the bed.

My husband, 10 month olds baby, and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Kauai Palms Hotel (again!!!). We were here last about 4 years ago and now we have a new addition to our family! The room was perfectly clean and the AC kept the room nice and cool. Allison at the front was very sweet, and hospitable. Being walking distance to our favorite Kauai Beer Co and an amazing SAIMIN restaurant is always our favorite! :) we'll be back again!

Excellent customer service. The place is nothing fancy, but it is quaint, and conveniently-locates. The rooms are clean, cozy, and have just enough amenities. Price was more than reasonable. Would definitely stay again.

What a TERRIBLE experience I've had with this joke of a hotel thanks to their poor customer service and rude staff, namely their GM Maria.

I booked online when I booked my flights and selected a king bed room. My boyfriend and I just needed a place to sleep and shower while on island (we are from Oahu) so didn't feel the need to book at a nicer hotel since we wouldn't utilize the facilities on site. WHAT A MISTAKE! I received an email stating that my room would only be available by request. What??? So I called multiple times with no answer. I decided to just reply to the email instead

(much of what I said about the Hanalei Inn, also applies here: https://www.yelp.com/biz/hanalei-inn-hanalei )

This is exactly what I look for in a hotel on vacation:
- cute
- cheap
- good location
- hot water
- cheap

I don't care about:
- all-inclusive-resort BS
- charging meals to a room-card
- room service
- rooster noise

This hotel isn't fancy, it's not on the beach, but it makes you feel like you live in the neighborhood. You can walk to the best brewery on the islands, or to one of the most famous saimin shops.

Staff is incredibly friendly, and were able to help us out

I highly recommend the Kauai Palms Hotel in Lihue whether it is for a vacation or business travel. It is clean, quiet, centrally located on the island, and has the most helpful staff to help you enjoy your stay on Kauai. Maria and Carrie share the aloha of island to all guests. I have been a regularly guest at Kauai Palms Hotel since 2012. It is also close to the LIH airport for those who have early morning flights and don't want to worry about island "traffic" from the north or west side.

People are too picky! No, it's not a resort, so if that's what you're looking for don't stay here. My husband and I are currently staying here until Monday for our honeymoon. We couldn't afford to stay at a $3,000 resort during the Christmas holiday and all airbnb's were sold out, so we decided to stay here. We are in room 23 and it is spacious and nice. I don't like the bathtub(looks like they started renovating it but forgot) and I refuse to put my feet in it so I wear flip-flops. Other than that I think it's great. It cost us 793.00 for 6 days for a king

Pros: Economical room price, air conditioner, coin-op laundry, friendly staff, very close to Lihue airport, and close to restaurants/shopping.

Cons: We only exterminated 5/10 small cockroaches (they were fast and resilient!), tiny room (2 feet clearance from sides of our queen bed), room locks are basic (no dead bolt), and shower water temperature fluctuated cold to hot constantly.

Overall: Ok place to stay if you are tight on budget and don't mind pests. If management can get pest control in regularly - then this motel would would fair better. 2.5 stars.

You get what you pay for!

Don't leave food out because you will get tiny ants and we got a tiny roach, it was unsettling.

The clerks we very nice and let us leave our bags with them because we arrived early; and we were able to get into our room a few hours early.

Great views from the second floor, accessible coin laundry, and vending machine with hawaiian sun drinks (yum)! We had to wipe the shower head because there was some nasty rust, and i think our toilet was slightly leaking, and the fridge wasn't very cold.
Overall, very quaint; ya get what ya pay for!

Our flight arrived about 7 a.m. so we tried to leave our luggage at the property. Unfortunately there was no secure area to leave our 2 bags as the woman on duty said it was raining. When we checked back a little past 3 pm the room was ready. My husband has health issues so I requested a low floor and we were given room 10 with a/c and a ceiling fan.

There was a mini fridge in the closet with 3 hangers. Also a tv and remote but we never used it.

The size of the room was like you'd find in Japan and Korea only with island decor. It was fine for the budget price we paid.

We actually called once we landed on the island and decided not to bunk with my sisters and brother in laws. Since there was going to be only one restroom in he cabin they booked. We called around and all placed were booked. Until we called this place. We were a little skeptical since other reviews mentioned bed bugs and roaches and made this place sound like a dump.

Actually it's pretty decent. Customer service was great. We booked in route here from Kapaa. We called about 11:45 am and arrived at 12:30 pm. Room was ready. We paid $230 for 3 days 2 nights and our room was pretty legit. For
