Growing up, James Speckman enjoyed working with his hands. Although he was initially drawn to becoming a carpenter, Jim had a family dentist that completed preventive orthodontics on him and influenced him to return to school to become a dentist himself. He graduated from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 1985.

I had a filling fall off randomly & the friendly team at Speckman helped fit me into their busy schedule! Dr. Speckman was amazing & was able to fix a cavity and put a new filling on that difficult tooth way in the back. I was in pain every day after that filling came off and now I don't have any pain. I would 1000% refer Speckman Dental Care to any friends, family or coworkers.

Really bad service. They sent my son away who has already an appointment saying he had HMO and need to be authorized! I was the one who called and made the appt. My have PPO and I wonder why they sent my son was sent away cause they thought he had HMO when I specifically mentioned that I have PPO when I called to make the appointment! What a waste of time to go for your appointment only to be turned away. I reverified and my dental is PPO.

In my opinion, Dr. Speckman and his staff are the best in the county! I have been going to their office for several years and my hygienist is both knowledgeable and kind. The entire staff is very professional. Dr. Speckman is gentle and always makes me feel welcome. I work in the dentistry field myself, and I highly recommend this dentist office.

Dr. Speckman has been our dentist for years, and he is great. Friendly and takes the time to explain things. We highly recommend him, and his staff is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable. At the end of the day he calls you to see how you are doing and if you have any questions after a procedure, I've never had a dentist do that!

My family and I have been going to Dr.Jim for over 20 years we love the staff and Dr.Jim. The staff and the "Doctor" are awesome they truly care about their patients. If you're looking for a professional, honest dentist, Dr Speckman is the one to go to. I've been seeing him for 30 years and I love him and his office staff. During the coronavirus their safety protocols are exceptional. Once a month they have Saturday morning appointments . I drive from Simi Valley to Ventura because once you find a great dentist you don't want to give them up.

From visiting with his sweet receptionist in the lobby to hearing everyone giggle and have fun in the back as my daughter's exam is going on,is truly a fantastic experience. Dr. Speckman and his staff are extremely accommodating. I would recommend them to anyone needing orthodontia. Now that my girls braces are off,I'm truly going to miss the staff! I'm so glad to have found Dr. Speckman. Before my consult with him, two other dentists had told me I needed 4 teeth pulled and implants installed. Dr. Speckman saved 3 of those 4 teeth. I appreciate his honesty and conservative attitude about treatment. He's done an excellent job on my crown and filling - can't even tell I have a crown. His staff is wonderful and caring. You are really made to feel like family here. Any questions are answered in a professional, easy-to-follow manner.

Our whole family, like extended family, goes to Dr. Speckman. He is absolutely amazing, and such a nice man. My husband talks about him like he is family. We love not only Dr. Speckman, but the whole staff. My son would cry going to the dentist and absolutely dread going. He actually likes going to Dr. Speckman's office! Best Dentist ever! Office staff is great. Hygienists are wonderful... very gentle, and thorough. Our whole family went to Dr. Speckman for years and would still be going had we not moved far out of the area. (I have even considered driving the 3 hours back just so we can keep seeing a dentist that we trust with our teeth, and who is honest and conservative in his dental approach.)

I would recommend (and do) recommend Dr Speckman to others often. In fact yesterday I was bragging about him to a friend who was unhappy with their Dentist. He has been my Dentist since 1994. I've been so pleased with him and his team that when I moved out of the area into LA County I continue to make the trip to Ventura. He is honest about your options and never tries to oversell.
