In 1926, founder Louis Edelman brought his wife and four children to Philadelphia from Weston, West Virginia. He was a local jeweler, optician, and watch inspector for the B&O Railroad. He founded Edelman's Loan Office at 4216 Lancaster Avenue in West Philadelphia. His son Milton Edelman joined the company after graduating from Germantown High School in 1933.

Found and purchased coins using Edelman's Coin Shoppe on eBay. The following is the review I left on eBay after receiving the coins. Coin arrived in todays mail as expected and was well packaged with personalized invoice listing transaction in details. Nice Touch. Shipping costs are as stated. Coin arrived packaged along with 1 additional coin in auction I had won. Coin is one pictured and described. All emails from Purchase through delivery were timely, courteous and professional. Seller is like dealing with local TRUSTED coin Shoppe owner. Would use again if price is right and I need a hole filled

My first business with the Edelman family was in 1977. Some plumbers were digging in the ground about 4 blocks from the store and left a box of really nice antique bottles they must have just dug up there on the curb. I showed them to The Edelmans 3 generations in the store that day and they liked them and gave me $ 25.00 ... Still great today. Thanks John
