We are a play-based, "co-op" preschool located in Avon, Indiana serving children ages 2 through Pre-K. Our mission is to prepare the entire child - both mind and body - to be successful in a more formal educational setting.

Play allows children the opportunity to build relationships, to learn to resolve conflicts, and to negotiate and regulate their behaviors, all while maintaining the qualities that make learning so fun - curiosity, creativity, concentration, optimism, and autonomy. The success of our co-op relies heavily on our parents.

At one time, the land on which St. Augustine (Episcopal Church, Danville, IN) is located was all apple orchards. As the gentleman who owned the land got older, he had his right hand man cut down the trees until there were only two trees from the original orchard left. Upon his death, the land was willed to the Episcopal Church.
Cooperative preschools are wonderful places to share firsthand in your child's initial school experience! A cooperative preschool allows you, as a parent, to be intimately involved with your child's education. Seeing you participating in the classroom allows your child to see how much you value his or her education.
We are one of twelve central Indiana preschools under the umbrella of Indiana Council of Preschool Cooperatives (ICPC). ICPC provides guidance, creates and maintains standards, champions the needs of children and families in the community, and is our source of support. To learn more about ICPC, please visit their website.
The Apple Seeds class is designed for our youngest learners - 2 and 3 year olds. Each Seeds class is limited to 10 children total and will be guided by our teacher, Ms. Ashley and two additional parent volunteers. Our focus during class is on child-led play and choosing time with developmentally appropriate activities offered.
The class focuses on child-led play and choosing time with thoughtfully selected, developmentally appropriate activities available, circle/story time, songs, snack, and gross motor activities.

Some of the important milestones that children can meet around these ages are playing cooperatively in a group, sharing and taking turns with assistance, beginning detailed dramatic and imaginative play, and perhaps gravitating towards one friend in particular. Each Dumplings class is limited to 15 children, and as always, our teachers are assisted by two participating parents during each class.
