I cannot say enough wonderful things about the entire staff at Midwest Eye Care on California Street. I am posting for my dad, he had cataract surgery over the last 3 weeks to treat both of his eyes.
I found out about Mission Cataract through some research to find out of better ways financially to get my dad these surgeries as he has essentially been blind for. The staff is very nice! Dr Jackson is the best! Most Drs just examine you and give you your prescription and out the door, Dr Jackson, explained everything to me.

SO much waiting and walking from one room to another, it all seems so dragged out. I just told the eye nurse (or whatever they are called) putting my daily contacts back in would hurt my eyes horribly and he said the doctor said it would be fine. Even though I expressed how bad it hurts my eyes to do so. I know they have a trial pair they could have loaned me, as this is where I got my contacts and trials previously. If my appointment is at 11, I expect to be seen by the DOCTOR shortly after yet it is 1145 and I am still waiting. After reading the reviews, seems like time management is not something

It's all about the money...
I have VSP through my employer and did not have cards yet in January... so my spouse who has separate coverage through UH, had gave the wrong insurance info. Since these initial apt, I had sent back atleast 3 statements with the corrected insurance information updated and had even been seen there afterwords several times since the initial apts for all 3 of my daughters. And they waited 7 months to tell me they don't have the insurance information updated (which they did for atleast one of my kids, thankfully) and that it's too late for them to bill VSP and that I need

This place is just awesome. I see April in contact lens department and she is very brilliant in her work. She fitted my lens in such a way that I am forever thankful to her. She will not get satisfied until she gets best results for her work. She is a great professional. My vision has improved a lot with new lens.

Ive seen dr Maw for my diabetic retinopothy and retinitis. I have had uncontrolled diabetic for 16 years in my teens and twenties. I had such bad diabetic eye damage that my left eye blood vessel's burst and i went blind. I called at night and saw one of the on call drs in 20 minutes or less.
Without dr Maw's expertise and skill i wouldve remained blind. Dr maw gave me a 50/50 chance that i would ever see again in my left eye. With dr Maw's help and my seeing a new diabetic dr i got my vision back 100%!!!

We stopped in to get eye glasses. We already had the prescription but needed to order frames and lenses. We were very pleased with the service we got from the minute we entered and told them why we were there. The salesperson helped us find the frames and lenses we were looking for. He helped us to find them in our price range. Some eye places act like used car salesman. All kinds of confusing prices and hidden charges. But not Midwest eye care. They are great.

Woke up on a Friday not being able to see out of my left eye. Dr Jackson got me in immediately after I called (even though they were extremely busy) and found the issue right away with the correct tests. I was then able to see a specialist only an hour later who ran further diagnostics and diagnosed my isaue. They scheduled me Monday morning following up for treatment. I can't believe how quickly and thoroughly they helped me out, definitely recommend them.
