After driving all the way there a few weekends back to find out they had closed 2 hours earlier than posted on their door or website, I called this evening at 7:20 and asked what time they would be open until and I was told 9pm. We then drove there and walked in at 7:45. The waitress seated us and the owner came out of the kitchen yelling "what are you doing???" at us. She then kicked us out as she said she had already turned off the kitchen and sent home the staff. I told her that we were very disappointed as we had just called 20 minutes earlier before we left out house and asked how

Rented a room for 2 nights alongside friends also visiting the area for an event. Our schedule was tight but staff were more than accommodating, including preparing breakfast hours ahead of the stated breakfast time because we had informed them we would miss breakfast for the second day. The rooms were clean and well cared for, the environment was scenic and splendid, and for those without cellular (and cell is not guaranteed out here) wifi is available. Hot chocolate and mulled cider were also available and were both phenomenal.

Home cooked dinner, coffee early morning is brewing, breakfast is hearty. Quaint. Charming. Historic. Happy place that makes you feel at home, with an element of mystery surrounding "Harriet" .... who has been around since 1737..

Had the house salad with peppercorn dressing, the roasted Cornish game hen with wild mushroom rice and chocolate cake for dessert. My mother and sister in law both had the pot roast and said it was delicious! We all brought home a doggie bag because the helpings are so generous! Our server was wonderful and highly recommend the New Boston Inn!

Been driving by this place for years; always before/after hours and said some day I'll be by when they're open. So cool. Very historic and perfect setting for the area. Kind of off the beaten path but well worth the trip. Menu was quite extensive, offering entrees for dinner or bar food, to suit your mood. The dining room looked very pleasant, great for family or date nite. The bar, albeit rather small is lively and fun. The service was excellent and staff very friendly. The meals were delicious, of ample serving size and very reasonably priced. You'll be telling your friends about this place and

Reopening after Covid restrictions, it was nice to have another meal here and see the kitchen has improved, and they've redecorated the main dining room with table linens that are an attractive improvement. A few years ago I would have given this Inn three stars after our first meal here together, but with the food served the other day, it's definitely four stars now.
Service was friendly and timely. Drinks from the bar in the neighboring room were good. An appetizer and two main dinner entrées were all well cooked. While we waited for our orders, two complimentary fresh rolls with herbs came

The food was fantastic and the Staff was very friendly and Accommodating. Trudy was great and showed genuine concern when she heard us talking about our friend being in an Accident.
Absolutely intend to return for some Traditional American Food.

Just a shame to charge money for what they serve, they need to have some pride and better menu execution. My portabella sandwich was listed on the menu as Portabella Sandwich but it was nothing more then a large portion of wet steamed spinach with bits of what looked like mushrooms and a few bits of maybe peppers. Hard to tell everything was so wilted and old looking. Had I known it was a steamed spinach sandwich, I would not have ordered it, or anything really because who serves that?
The French fries were so orange I thought they were sweet potato fries but they were not. The oil in the fryolator

Charming historic inn. Good food, lovely accommodations, and fun, caring staff. We first stayed here a number of years ago when our house was being renovated. Have come back every year since for a vacation or just dinner because we love the people and the place.

Didn't know what to expect when coming today, but what a treat!
A lamb stew was their special today for lunch. A LARGE bowl that actually had a good amount of lamb and a phenomenal thick, dark broth. Enjoyed seeing the chickens on the way out!

Went for a ride with the hubby on a Friday day off. Saw this adorable place so stopped in for a drink or two and a lite bite. The bar is well stocked and my screwdrivers were delicious. The food is a little on the bland side. Stuffed mushrooms were sitting in a brown liquid, my Cesear salad dressing was definitely Italian, and I did not care for the doughy roll. Hubby had clam chowder and said the potato's were pulpy. The staff was great and the atmosphere was awesome. Loved reading about the resident ghost!

Quaint atmosphere. Very very friendly. INCREDIBLY overpriced. Food was AWFUL. We paid $50 for a meal that was questionable. The blue cheese cauliflower carrot broccoli salad had tons of dressing but no blue cheese. Carrots were a little brown in spots. Burger was not good. Bummer. Fryer was not working.

Beware! Hidden Surcharge?!!!
An unannounced $2.00 "service fee" was added to my lunch because it was less than $25.00.
What working man stops at a roadside tavern in the Mass. mountains to spend $25.00 for lunch?
If there are two of you, better spend $50.00 or you may get zinged for an additional $4.00.
Un-American!
Oh, and don't order artichokes, they're "ahhtichokes."

While the food was good the service was horrible. Maybe if the help spent less time around the bar dropping F-bombs and other vile language it would have been much nicer experience. Arguing with a guy at the bar about not smoking a cigarette in the restaurant and the porch area where we sat. Too bad a place with such Historical interest is not run in a professional manner. Definitely not returning.

Disappointing . We went there tonight and were disappointed with the food and service. Where do I start?
Waitress came by and took our drink order & then disappeared for a very long time . Are we were getting ready to leave she magically reappeared from sitting at the bar. She sounded like Sara Palin and seemed so insincere.
I ordered Chicken Florentine that was supposed to come with mixed vegetables & a baked potato. What I received reminded me of high school cafeteria food. Lukewarm frozen vegetables that consisted of 9 pieces of carrot, 1 jelly bean sized chunk of frozen broccoli

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of service and the food. We had dinner in the bar and the bartender was very attentive, even though she was doing triple duty. We had the potato skins as an app and I had the meat lasagna. Both were excellent.

Would definitely stop again.

Staff here was really nice. Food, on the other hand, was disappointing. The stuffed shrimp tasted pre cooked and served with regular shrimp over a bed of great bread crumbs. Also, the beer selection seemed quite limited.

The New Boston Inn what a let down.
Me & my husband have been vising there for a couple of years now. Stop in and have either lunch or dinner. Food was always good and I'm sure it still is.
We we booked a room for one night, really looking forward to this night. Plans had to change due to pending weather so we called 5 days in advance to cancel.

I was shocked to find out that there was a $50.00 charge for the cancellation.
When the call was made booking the room all policies and especially a cancellation fee of $50.00 should have been advised. This was not the case. We gave 5 days

I originally reviewed this place as 4 stars after my initial meal there. I have been back a number of times since and it constantly disappoints.

After a number of visits, I can honestly say it deserves 2 stars. A horrible place? Not at all. Mediocre might better describe it.

Want have a beer with some locals? By all means drop in for a brew.

Looking for a good meal? Try elsewhere. They have trouble even cooking a burger at the right temperature.

This was a nice little stop for lunch while in the Berkshires. There's a cute outdoor area with a little little pond with baby fish and frogs. We ate in the dining room and service was good. The bowl of coma chowder was a nice size and was very delicious but did have an interesting cinnamon hint to it. I ordered the Caesar salad which was simple, good and "side salad" portion (not meal portion). My husband got the fish and chips which were good. Overall, we enjoyed our lunch here.

Stopped on a Sunday after a long day of hiking. If you sit in the dining room you are limited to the Dining Room Menu. If you sit in the pub, you get the addition of a lower priced pub -fare menu.

We sat in the pub.

4 beers on tap, 3 BBC and 1 Long Trail.

I'm assuming it's because of the location and relative exclusivity, but the dinner menu was over priced. $13 for a buffalo chicken wrap?! Methinks not!

Anything you want is extra. Bread, $1.50. Extra sauce for dipping, $.50.

Open faced meatloaf sandwich that was touted as "possibly the best you've ever

We stopped here yesterday on our way home from the outlets in Lee,Massachusetts. It was a Sunday afternoon and as we were walking in there was a small band playing on the back lawn to a few folks. We dined in, in the quaint dining room. We shared their clam chowder which was good. Their menu is small but again it's a small inn. I had the open faced meatloaf with french fries and it was quite good. My partner had a grilled chicken sandwich with garlic, spinach, mushrooms, and cheese. He thought the chicken was dry and there was too much garlic. Trudy, our wait person was very friendly and working
