Pacific Bay Recovery
At Pacific Bay Recovery of San Diego, we know how hard it is to curb an alcohol, behavioral or prescription drug addiction. We specialize in offering compassionate, customized treatment and rehabilitation for individuals struggling from behavioral and substance abuse disorders (alcohol, illicit or prescription drugs).

Drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers have been around for decades, and most offer the same types of treatments. If you check into one of these facilities, you'll use the same plan that people have used for years. The people at these facilities don't see you as an individual. You're just another addict they need to push through the program.
Services
When you visit us at Pacific Bay Recovery, we can examine you from a medical, musculoskeletal, cognitive, neurocognitive and psychological standpoint. A typical program usually begins with medical detoxification followed by 90 days of inpatient treatment and 21 months in an outpatient setting. Our therapy plans are personalized, so that you can be confident that you are getting the best treatment for you.
Pacific Bay Recovery got me off of the narcotic medication that doctors had me on for many years. They helped me regain my health and my strength, while teaching me other ways to control my pain without the use of substances. These are the most amazing people to work with, and I highly recommend their services to anyone and everyone who is ready and willing to become well again.
With over 30 years of experience in healthcare, from primary care to mental health and psychiatry, Dr. Duffy has worked around the country before finding home in San Diego. Dr. Duffy founded Pacific Medical Care in 2012 followed by Pacific Bay Recovery in 2014 after continuously seeing an increased need for those suffering from substance use disorders intensified by mental health concerns.
A safe, structured and secure living environment is a key element to effective recovery. For patients requiring this added level of support Pacific Bay Recovery provides beautiful residential and transitional housing to support our clients on their life-long journey towards recovery. Our fully licensed and Joint Commission Accredited properties are located in the outskirts of Downtown in Mission Hills and the College Area in San Diego, CA.
Our staff at Pacific Bay Recovery has all of the resources necessary to help you pursue remission. At our center, we take a holistic approach to treatment and recovery. We want you to experience freedom from the physical, emotional, and spiritual pain that diminishes your quality of life. Our center offers a wide range of programs; each of which can be tailored to meet your needs.

Pacific Bay Recovery and the staff there worked together to help me identify areas of my life that played a direct role in my relapses. They actually took the time to listen and provided me actual support vs having me sit day in and day out through 12 step meetings like some of the other places I've been to. Life isn't perfect, but I am sober, and I get to still participate in some of the outpatient stuff and alumni activities. It's a great community, and the best support I have had access to in a long time. I'm grateful for Pacific Bay. I'm grateful for my sobriety.

Pacific Bay has helped me tremendously to find inner peace, balance, and happiness in my recovery from addiction to drugs. The staff are very knowledgable, professional, and helpful. The groups are engaging, interesting, and fun. This is an environment that encourages me to live my best life. I highly recommend Pacific Bay Recovery. I have achieved over 2 years clean and sober and still look forward to attending outpatient a couple days a week.

Pacific Bay Recovery filled a critical need we had with a family member who needed care. They were responsive, set clear goals and provided the care and compassion that we hoped for. They also worked with the family to set a admission and discharge schedule that met our needs. Well done guys and thank you.

Everything stated in the previous review by Nissa was our experience as well for the same individual. I'm so appalled by the lack of integrity from this facility. We spent over 8 hours in contact with Pacific Bay- setting up treatment.
Their coordinator Jacob actually tried to blame my husband and I by saying we hadn't placed a card down when it was all made perfectly clear we would sign that upon her arrival to the detox facility. For a place who was about to charge us $1000 for her care for ONE DAY, you'd think a little compassion and follow through would be had. This employee had the audacity

I recently had a horrific experience with Pacific Bay Recovery. For such a reputable place (according to an almost 5 star rating on google reviews) this is incredibly disappointing. A friend of mine has been struggling with substance abuse and suicidal ideation. We were helping them to get detoxed and then the plan was to find a rehabilitation center for them. Pacific Bay was one of the first I called. Their representative, Jacob Alonzo, and I spoke in length about their program - which seemed amazing and very therapeutic! Because I had to travel later in the day I passed Jacob’s details to my

My name is Ryan W and I am an alcoholic/addict. PBR was hands down the most beneficial and transformative rehab I have ever been to. I am speaking from experience as I have attended at least 8 rehabs and detoxes. Beforehand. Of course it’s a wonderfully nice place to stay with beautiful amenities and valuable group therapy sessions but it is truly the novel treatment team approach undertaken by Dr. Duffy and his staff of experts that really drives the solid success rate of this facility. I truly believe PBR saved my life! I have life long friends from my time at this facility and it sort of feels

I stayed at Pacific Bay Recovery (PBR) for a little over a month to get sober and it worked. To be brutally honest, the stay felt like a vacation without alcohol. I was skeptical at first, but after an initial meeting with Jacob, Greg and a few other staff members, I signed up. Within days my symptoms of alcoholism disappeared and I accredited that to the staff and their counselling. Also instrumental to my recovery were the group sessions that we had, 5/6 days a week. We learned form each other and were able to establish long term friendships during meal times, breaks and after hours. The living

PBR,
First, thank you for the C&D. That was nice and stupid. I'll post a photo of it here if you like since it was full of accusations that threats based on me mentioning [redacted] by name in my review when I did no such thing. But YOU were happy to do it so I'm sure people reading this would be happy to see who you thought I meant. And, prior to that, thank you for trying to bill me outside of my insurance. I have no idea how many people you've scammed money out of that way but that was gross. My copay was $30/day and that's that.
AND thank you for discounting the pain

I came here in May 2020 to detox from alcohol. Upon intake I was seen by a physician to assess my condition. He was friendly and showed compassion. The phlebotomist took blood and a full panel was completed which was shared with me once the results came in a few days later.
The intake process was brief - completed necessary legal paper work and then was promptly brought upstairs. The staff was immediately very friendly to me and tried to make me as comfortable as possible. A personal medication plan was made to help control symptoms and provide reasonable comfort as I detoxed.

My son entered this program right at the beginning of the Covid pandemic and stay at home orders. He called and requested a Facetime meeting with the admissions person, found him to be compassionate, and agreed to be admitted on the same day. The staff was warm and encouraging with him. Unfortunately, because of quarantine issues, he could not realize the benefits of treatment completely. Initially, he was quarantined for 2 weeks before being able to enter a treatment house where group therapy was held. Also, the counselors and therapists held their sessions via Zoom. That being said, my

They are great at selling a completely fictitious program. None of the pictures you see online are anything like what actually goes on here. Extremely disorganized and they do a lot of things that are morally wrong. Not to mention illegal. Beware that you will get promised a lot of things to get you in the door then none of those things come true and if you try and leave they will call everyone that is close to you, isolate you and tell them not to help you. Make sure if you do come into this program you get everything in writing and keep record of everything.Don't drink the kool aid

THE REAL DEAL!

Pacific Bay Recovery isnt your typical 'rehab', it's a life line and gives people HOPE! Compassionate staff from entry to exit - they literally are angels on earth. As you probably know already by being on this page & simply researching rehabs that sobriety is not an easy task. Whether it be your first attempt at getting clean or your 56th relapse - this place can really truly help, smart recovery/12 step/ whatever it is, they will support you and do it safely unlike other places ive seen. I am baffled by the amount of people there that are willing to assist

Quality care, compassionate staff, and effective treatment. I highly recommend Pacific Bay Recovery to anyone who has struggled with substance abuse related to chronic pain. The staff is extremely knowledgable and always has the patients best interest at heart. Miracles happen at this treatment center for people who have been on pain medication for years with no hope of getting off of it. I know first hand that the staff goes above and beyond to help not only their patients in any way that they can, but the San Diego community as well. I will gladly continue to recommend this program to individuals

Pacific Bay Recovery has made it possible for me to finally start piecing my life back together and to built a meaningful life. Until now, I have been a chronic relapser, unable to maintain lasting sobriety and achieve any stability in my life, which I have desperately needed. At this writing, I am 5 months sober, and have hope, something I haven't had for a long long time. PBR went above and beyond in helping me get into detox & has been extremely supportive & by my side during this process. I am now in their sober living and continue to get the support and guidance I need to rebuild

They have actually mentioned this review to my girlfriend and have punisher accordingly. They told her that she could not go out on pass because they didn't want her seeing me.

Her phone was falling apart so I bought her a new one, they threw it away! Saying that she needed to learn to be more self-sufficient. Nevermind the fact that she's there because someone else is paying for it. Learning to be sober is not the time to learn to be self-sufficient. They did it out of spite. Not to mention this was her personal property. She did not violate any rules. This was purely out of spite

PLEASE READ...

This doctor is a quack. I was told that Worker's Comp would be paying this doctor $3500 A DAY! Yes, I said A DAY, for me to be in his detox program. I'm not a drug addict but they said because of my impeding birthday (going to be 60 yrs old) that I was going to die unless I was taken off of fentanyl. I asked upon my 6 hour intake or was it longer... if I wanted to get out of this program on my own could I leave. I was told yes, you can leave any time you want to. Ok, so a week into the Arbor Hills Nursing home where he had an IV in my arm the entire time to detox

I can not begin to describe how disappointed I was with this place. My son has been battling with addiction for quite some time. We were desperate to get him some help. Him being a very young adult, you can imagine how happy we were when he finally agreed to go to rehab. He was even excited about getting help and changing his life.

His father and I have not always seen eye to eye on a lot of things, but one thing we've ALWAYS agreed on is our strong feelings against pharmaceuticals. We do not believe
