I procured estimates for a complete roof replacement on my home, including replacing all gutters and downspouts, from 10 different roofers. I initially went with the lowest bidder and regretted it. Without going into details, I had to fire that company and hired Wide Awake Roofing. Ed is very knowledgeable about his craft, and is well versed on the "cool roof" ordinance in Los Angeles City.

We inherited a pesky leak on our flat roof that required mold remediation and a full resurface. Ed's team handles everything post-remediation, from framing and drywall, to building a cricket to redirect the water flow on the roof, and then a full coating of high grade coating that has resealed the whole roof. The work was done quickly, cleanly, and as advertised. Thanks Ed!

This roofer says that he provides a guarantee to fix the roof leak, "guarantee" is perspective. He came out as an emergency call, I paid $450 to repair a water leak during the rain. He slapped some roof cement on areas of the roof and left ..aware that rainwater was currently pouring into my attic despite the temp "fix" which he admitted would not necessarily fix the issue, and it didn't. He provided no further advice to mitigate the emergency from further damage until the rain stopped. He provided a very very costly estimate on top of the $450 I had already paid to fix

I called five roofing contractors about putting a new roof on my Tudor style home. Two did not work on steep roofs. One wanted me to pay $70 for an estimate. The fourth gave me an estimate $5,000 more than the estimate Ed gave me. Ed and his site manager, George, were informative, professional and pleasant to work with on a project that intimidated me at first. This was not an inexpensive project but I received good value in terms of workmanship and materials for the money I spent. The roof was completed in a timely manner and looks great.

Came recommended by other contractor. Unfortunately, never got to even work together.
Scheduled to meet at the job site two days after our call. We agreed he'd call before heading out there, as we both are about 45minutes away from the job site. Calls me from the job site, and with only limited time, because next job was waiting already.
We finally walk the job site, he takes measurements. We start talking about timing. "Yeah, bad news. Fully booked for next three months." So, why do we even meet in the first place?!?!? Complete waste of time.
After some convincing, he (George

Ed is very knowledgeable about his craft, and is well versed on the "cool roof" ordinance in Los Angeles City. We settled on a price, he showed me samples, and scheduled a date. Then El Nino rain happened, and we had to push the date back until. As soon as it was sunny, he and his crew did the job in a week

Wide Awake Roofing is true to its name--it's open, straightforward and honest about everything it does. We asked for an appraisal regarding a major leak in our roof in the summer of 2015, and the company's owner, Ed Spann, was here the next morning. He gave us an estimate that I ran past a contractor friend who said it was reasonable and not overpriced. But it was months before we got back to Mr. Spann to get the job done. Even though prices had gone up, he stuck to his original estimate and fixed our roof. His crew was unusually gentlemanly (roofers tend to be more on the rough side
