Cryotherapy, which literally means "cold therapy, " is a technique where the body is exposed to extremely cold temperatures for several minutes. American Cryotherapy offers private, whole-body (WBC) sessions in which the entire body is immersed in extremely cold air for several minutes to achieve a number of health benefits.

A great place to work out, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the equipment, plenty of equipment to choose from, it wasn't too crowded when I visited however I do believe it most likely could get busier at certain times of the day. It was clean. It had very nice locker rooms with a sauna in the corner which I liked. Overall it is a very nice gym. I would like to point out that there are a few minor details here and there that might need to be fixed, a simple repair here and there, nothing really worth mentioning other than that. I am currently on a trial period here at American fitness. I like that they have a Sauna here!!! It feels like a real gym. Not a cookie cutter kind of gym. Staff was nice and respectful. I didn't feel any pressure. Clean facilities too. Might be Making the switch, even though this gym is 30 min away from me. But I like the feel

I went to sign up and nobody was at the front desk. Then I went inside this boot camp part of the gym they have and the guy in there gave me dagger eyes and wasn’t welcoming at all so I just turned around and left. I never even signed up. There was a women behind a glass office door while I was at the front desk but she also paid no attention to me she seemed more interested in her Trophies to come assist me. They Lost two member that day, me and my son who was interested in martial arts.

Hey Gym Rats! American is the best place to work those muscles! Wide selection of great classes with outstanding instructors. And if you need one on one to meet your goals, they have it. And they have a Cryogenic room to compliment your exercise plan. WOW doesn't say enough! Make sure you bring your smile!

Great gym with awesome equipment, as well as a very nice selection of dumbbell weights. The only reason for 4 stars is the quality of barbells were not very good. They had a very weak knurling, which makes it tricky to do any of the big 3 lifts. This could be personal preference as I do have a liking for a very aggressive knurling, however having at least one bar with that option would have been very nice. Other than that, a great gym!

I should of signed up to Planet. Good gym but not good staff. It's too bad because I like the gym but the staff ignores you like you're invisible. They are stuck up and have the look like they don't want to get bothered. I'm a paying customer and don't appreciate that. One girl is good but the rest are stuck up like they are God's greatest gift and literally ignore you when at the front desk. You can be waiting and they will not attend to your needs at all. It's too bad because the gym is nice but the self obsessed princess attitude has got to change, if it doesn

Nice gym but a little far from where we live. Honestly we found this place because we came her for cryotherapy. The staff was nice and I know they have fair prices on the memberships. Forgot to ask if they down veteran discount, but most gyms in this area do. If you live or work close to this area then this is a great place to work out.

I went to this gym for a day, just to try it out while on vacation, and one of the gym managers or owner was a complete a-hole to another employee of the gym, right in front of me. How unprofessional. Handle your business in an office.
Also, try not to fall down, because there is gravel on the floor of the gym! How ghetto! They can't even clean the floors!
And whose Porsche is parked out front in a fire lane? Seriously, learn to park your car in a parking spot.
Does Yelp allow half a star? 1 Star is too much.

BEST GYM ON THE GRAND STRAND BY FARRR!!!! Now having been a member of this gym for a little over a year I couldn't be happier. Not only are the trainers and staff educated but they are eager and beyond willing to help you achieve your best self!
