Definitely not my favorite diner when in in NY. I find the food and the service to be just mediocre. My daughter was the only one whom enjoyed what she ate. A cheese burger. My wife and I definitely didn't enjoy what we had. My wife a grilled vegetable sandwich, it was tasteless! I had a grilled cheese with ham. It was light on the cheese and the ham was very salty. Other then my wife's aunt ordered the toast unbuttered and it came out buttered, she was fine with what she had. Now my wife's uncle had a problem. He wanted them to alter the vegetable omelet. Valbrook under new ownership and is not as good.
They improperly cooked two of our items. Made a mistake on a third, and then tried to re-serve part of the mistake. The cheeseburgers, even though cooked medium rare, were thin, dry, tasteless, and only had one slice of barely melted cheese. Formerly free pickles and Cole Slaw now had an additional price. Obviously the quality of the meat not as good. Obviously they are cutting corners. We were all hungry, but none of the food was good enough to finish. And finally there was an overcharge on the check.

It was my birthday and several family members got together at the Valbrook Diner for lunch. We were a party of 14 adults and kids, and each one of us were treated well. The service and food were amazing. Special preparation requests were honored without a problem. It was the first time any of us ate at the diner, and we will definitely be back. The photo is a pastry brought to me in recognition of my birthday. It was a great experience for all!

We have been going to the Valbrook for years, wanted to write a letter or send an e-mail instead of write a review, however this was the most available option. Three stars because we used to love it. This visit wasn't even a one. There was no beauty in the meal or the server.

First time at Valbrook Diner passing this Diner several years and after reading the reviews and finally here for breakfast had bacon omelette home fries with whole wheat toast big portion was delicious had lots of bacon throughout the omelette.
The staff is welcoming and friendly was seated right a away. I can see that management and servers appreciate the customers especially the regulars which is a good like.
My server could have been a little more friendly. Looking at the other servers was wishing we were sorted in different section.

Only go there for breakfast, it is clean, organized, food is good but not over the top. Obviously if you want fine dining, this will not be your place. If you are looking for the diner experience, you found it! Expect large portions, especially for items on the regular menu, they are good for two ppl. The chicken wings were good!

Ok, so normally I get my food platter style but was in a rush so I got a sandwich, I will never go back to platter style. This sandwich was freaking beautiful this the type of sandwich you get from corner store where they treat you like family. This sandwich was PERFECT! Been coming here for about two years, this review was long over due.

They give you a lot of food here for breakfast. The food is okay. I wasn't to thrilled about the lox omelette. The lox tasted a little over cooked. My omelette was a little runny as well, next time I'll tell them to make my omelette well done. I found hair in my food as well, which really turned me off. This is just an ordinary diner.

Very nice diner. Came with my father and little sister. Took us a little while to decide what to get because everything on the menu looked good and reasonably priced. Were conscious to socially distance due to the pandemic and all of the staff wore masks. Food was very good and gave large portions. We were happily surprised when we saw how much food we got. I ordered the Cajun chicken salad and it was well worth it. Ended up taking the rest home. Overall, great dinner, friendly staff, and very clean. Can't wait to return.

Definitely a Sunday go-to place! The service is pretty fast and the staff are friendly. The owners are present and charismatic. Food can be cooked to order and the prices are average. There is parking available in the back and on the street. Breakfast is my favorite although they serve good lunch options as well.

I gave this review one star because I wasn't allowed to give zero stars or a negative star. I've been coming here for many years and after today, you couldn't pay me to come back. My husband, daughter and I came here at 12:30pm in advance of a 1:45 movie in Lynbrook theater which is only about 10 minutes away. We waited for about 15 minutes for a table which was extremely reasonable for a Sunday. We were seated at 12:45 and waited about 10 minutes before a waiter came to take our order. We waited from 12:55 to 1:30 for food that never came. The waiter apologized and said at 1:15

Stopped in for a business lunch with a colleague. The place looked quite clean with plenty of staff to bus tables and keep diners happy. We were greeted quickly and shown to a table. Now, my colleague brought his laptop inside so we could get some work done while we were eating. We asked our server if they had Wi-Fi. She said she didn't know. We asked another employee. He said he didn't know. We asked a third employee. Same thing. My colleague gave up and put the laptop away. I'm someone who loves a great Saturday morning breakfast after a long and gruesome week. I decided to try somewhere else other than IHOP and ended up randomly coming to Valbrook Diner. From when I first entered the establishment, I was greeted with courtesy and I knew right then and there that they valued their customers. I was granted the choice to sit where I wanted. I love this place especially the bus boy (exceptional service!) They are serving up all of the New York classics with a very extensive menu. We had the open faced chicken salad sandwich, matzo ball soup, pizza bagels and cookies. I was a bit hungover, and this food made me feel much better. Prices are reasonable, lots of variety, and there's a full bar for cocktails. Yes yes yes.

I had the pizza burger & probably the best diner burger I've ever had in Long Island. They put mozz cheese on both ends of the buns, making it extra cheesy. The coleslaw was my favorite, sooo creamy. Yet, the dessert wasn't the freshest, so I'd watch out on that. My friends & I got a slice of choc mousse cake and a huge eclair. The cake had that type of taste where you can tell it's been sitting out there, but the eclair was really gross. The cream inside of it was like a jelly consistency. The manager was lenient enough to take the eclair off our bill.

I have been here a handful of times during my time in Valley Stream. I can agree with many of the negative and positive reviews since it's really hit or miss. During my last visit, the service was uneventful though slow, in as much as it wasn't busy but I waited some time before my order was taken. No attitude from the server, but no feeling of them being happy I was there.

Soooooo for me breakfast is 3 stars... lunch and dinner foods are 4 stars.... I really love the fries here and the honey mustard is out of control delicious.

Val Brook is one of my go-to diners in the Lynbrook area (one of 3), even though it's technically in Valley Stream. Although it's got some great food, I actually put it at #3 for me in the area and usually opt for this diner for convenience over anything else.

I heard it can get quite busy in here but I'm yet to experience this crowd they speak of. Their personable staff is always more than diners whenever I visit which isn't a bad thing....for me. I get full attention and I'm loving it! Stop! This isn't McDonald is it? Staff seem to consist of mainly Mediterranean men which isn't a bad thing....for me. Stop! This isn't Tinder is it?
