Services
Aquatic Therapy and Wellness is a complete physical therapy clinic that provides faster and less painful care through the use of our warm water therapy pool, kept consistently at 92 degrees. In water 3 feet to 10 feet deep, we treat patients of all ages, and medical problems. We specialize in complicated cases such as; Fibromylagia, Spinal Stenosis, Neuropathy, Vertigo and more.
You don't have to be a swimmer to benefit from warm water. Our pool is 92 degrees, fully handicapped accessible and your therapist is always at your side. When you graduate, you can utilize our fitness passes to continue exercising in a warm pool. We also provide customized laminated water exercise programs for you to take with you (great for you SNOW BIRDS!)
I totally appreciate the total care that I have received from ATW. Not only the therapy that has given me back the use of both arms, but the love and care the entire staff has shown me! Aquatic Therapy and Wellness is the place to go, especially if you have a unique issue and you have exhausted all other possibilities.
We have a skilled staff of PT's and PTA's who value hands on experience for the new therapist. Subsequently we are affiliated with NIU as a clinical site to teach aquatic therapy for outpatients. We are also an affiliate of McHenry County College, offering observation and hands on experience. Students from other colleges and universities may apply for us to be a one time clinical site if they are from the local area and wish to learn from us.
Do I need a physician's prescription to come in for therapy? In the state of Illinois, people have direct access to outpatient Physical Therapy services. That means that you do not need to see your MD or chiropractor before starting PT. However, during your initial evaluation you and your therapist will determine whether or not the assistance and input from your doctor is needed.
