Long Beach Community Acupuncture
As the first community acupuncture clinic in the city of Long Beach, California, we offer high-quality, affordable acupuncture every day. Our mission is to make this medicine more accessible so everyone can experience how effective it can be as part of their daily lives. We offer high-quality, personalized treatments in our peaceful common room.

Patients relax in comfortable recliners supported by the collective healing around them. We believe group settings yield many benefits: more people have access to acupuncture in a given hour, friends and family can come in together, and people can retain their needles for up to an hour. We offer our acupuncture treatment on a sliding scale of $30-$50, with an additional $10 consultation fee on your first visit.
Services
LBCA provides high-quality, affordable treatments in a quiet, common area. Patients are treated individually in comfortable recliners and usually rest anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. In addition to the ear and scalp, most of the acupuncture points I use are located between the elbows and wrists and knees and ankles.
Long Beach Community Acupuncture offers a range of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulas. As one of the pillars of TCM, herbal formulas involve the combination of natural substances and can include pills, capsules, teabags, extract powder, raw herbs, and topical plasters or ointments. Each of our formulas are prescribed to meet the unique needs of each patient and can be used to treat a variety of concerns.
Cupping is a highly effective, ancient therapy that has been used by many cultures to treat pain and other ailments. In acupuncture and Chinese medicine, we conceptualize physical pain as a blockage of energy and blood circulation to a specific area. Attaching a glass or plastic cup to the surface of the skin exerts negative pressure, pulling up on the skin, instead of pushing down.
In our community environment we want everyone to feel welcome and be as comfortable as possible. We appreciate your cooperation with our clinic policies. Operating hours will be cut in half and appointment availability will be radically reduced. Whereas we usually scheduled six people an hour in 10 minute increments, I will only schedule 3 people per hour in 20 minute increments.
If you feel sick-in any way-please stay home and reschedule your appointment. If you would like some herbs to help with your condition, we can discuss your symptoms over the phone and arrange for delivery of them to your house. Once 72 hours have passed without symptoms, you can reschedule. On your first visit, you will meet with your acupuncturist in a private room to review your health concerns and the primary reason for seeking treatment.

Susan is very kind and really listens. She is also gentle and doesn't jam the needles in like lots of other people. I've been to ALOT of acupuncturists and she's in the top 5.

I am an acupuncturist and I went a few times in 2017, for energy and wellness boost. So impressed by the setup and by Susan that I have passed around her LBCA cards. It's certainly cheaper than the deluxe acupuncture experience I offer in Seal Beach. I still have credit there but just haven't made it. Wish there were more POCA in OC, besides Santa Ana. Kudos LBCA!

I've been to LBCA a few times, and would go every week if I were closer. Sliding scale, 8 recliners in one big, quiet room, and gentle needling on head and extremity points. Herbs available upon request. You can nap there, as needed. Thank you for having this POCA clinic in LB!
I recommend going to yoga on the bluff off of Junipero at 11:00 and then head to LBCA. Yes!
