Not all inspectors come with real world experience, there are many who stumbled onto this profession from an office job. I on the other hand have built 100+ houses from the foundation up, with 18 years of engineering and construction experience under my belt. A sewer scope is a camera that is designed to enter a sewer pipe to look for defects. Sewer pipes cost approx between $200 and $400 per foot to replace, price depends on a variety of things like the land you are digging up (Concrete driveways cost more to replace than lawns). We recommend all older homes have a sewer scope, any home with cast iron sewer lines should be scoped as well as homes with large trees growing near the sewer line.

John May performed inspections on our home in November 2021. He was incredibly responsive and professional, taking the time to explain what he was doing and doing a through job. He never made us feel like a number. He was also well worth the cost; he found a significant pier issue that we were able to get the seller to correct. Also, when we later had an issue with getting the gas fireplace to ignite, he came by our house to show us how to get it working. I cannot recommend John and his company more highly.

John May is as good as it gets when it comes to home inspectors. I have used him on three separate occasions and will continue to use him as long as he is on this side of the grass. He reports are thorough, and provide great pictures and diagrams to help anyone not familiar with home construction (me!) understand all the risks and potential pitfalls. While I did not have the pleasure of meeting him in person, the report that he provided on our new home was far and away more thorough and detailed than I had ever expected. The quality of my home inspection was excellent. The price was affordable and worth every penny. John spent 3 hours inspecting the home. John is very professional and knowledgeable. The home inspection far exceeded my expectations, very thorough and informative. After completing inspection John went over his findings and I received written report the same day. John was fantastic to work with. He was very thorough and got the report to us very quickly. I was blown away by how much information he had in the report, and he included tips for things that we could fix ourselves. He was so patient with all my questions and willing to explain everything. It was very hot on inspection day and he brought cold drinks for everyone, which was greatly appreciated. On top of everything else, the home inspection was enjoyable.
