After 33 years in Lynnwood, Brighton School moved in 2015 to a new expanded and modernized location in Mountlake Terrace. At our new campus, we continue to provide the same outstanding curriculum and sense of community for which Brighton School is known, while allowing us to deepen our commitment to STEM education, the arts, and athletics.
Brighton is a strong, safe, and nurturing community where all of our school decisions are student-centered. My goal as Head of School is to ensure that all students are provided with rigorous and engaging experiences within a supportive environment that will offer opportunities for self-growth, self-confidence, and resilience.
What is the student/teacher ratio? Brighton School prides itself on building strong relationships between staff and students. Our class size averages 18 students school-wide with 10- or smaller ratio in preschool and pre-k. In addition, there is at least one classroom aide in every grade to help individualize instruction.
Our school builds the solid academic foundation students need for future success. Our curriculum and teaching approach are guided by the latest educational research. We constantly enrich and update our curriculum, technology, and teaching strategies. We offer many professional development opportunities for our educators at all levels, and foster a community of learning that engages teachers, parents and students.

My kids really enjoy going to elementary school here. i would say that the teachers overall are very responsive and are always willing to work with individual parents. The STEAM and art program are super and the kids love them! It would be great to have more after school programming but that also takes more parent involvement to organize, so I understand why there are only few offerings. On the other hand, my children enjoy just playing after school and the drop ability is great. Overall, we are happy, the kids are happy, and there you go!

We have 2 kids at Brighton in the Kindergarten and Preschool classes. We have had an all around fantastic experience with this school. Class sizes are small, teachers are talented and excellent with the kids, communication with parents is amazing, and most importantly our kids are learning and love school. As soon as you walk in, there is just a positive energy that everyone ( students and staff) want to be there. We couldn't be happier.
