When shopping for a mortgage, the lender may give you a quote for the mortgage interest rate and points (additional fees charged by the lender usually paid at closing by the borrower). These only represent terms available at the time of the quote. They may not be available by the closing date (which may be weeks or months in the future).
This mortgage is fixed for the entire 30 year term of the loan. This is the most conservative mortgage available providing absolute rate stability but most likely a substantially higher rate than ARM's or hybrids such as the five year or three year mortgages. This loan does not have a prepayment penalty and does not have negative amortization.

Garbage company with extremely garbage mortgage lenders. Run away as fast as you can. There are so many better companies out there that actually listen to their customers, lend a helping hand through the process, and don't complexly f over their clientele for a couple more $$$. This place sucks!!!

Is there a minus star? I am a Realtor, Paz Flores DRE 00966415. I haven't seen this type of lender since the 2007 lender fiasco. This was my personal experience. I received a "preapproval" letter from Daniel Chalk, the clients lender. This letter meant absolutely nothing. I called the office to verify the client was preapproved and had liquid cash to close the escrow. Verified, however, that direct conversation meant nothing. Time to remove loan contingencies and the games began. Call the office, different individuals, no return calls, Daniel will only communicate via email

Our agent recommended Daniel at Kal Financial for helping us get into our first house. Daniel was very friendly and nice. Everything seemed fine. A bit later, as it got closer to closing, we told Daniel that we had been doing some mortgage shopping on our own and we found a better interest rate than what he was offering us. So he agreed to drop the interest rate for our mortgage with him. Well, a week or so later, a day after we were supposed to close-he told us he could no longer offer us the interest rate we were promised, and basically told us that we had to accept a much higher interest rate

Forgot to review this company after a terrible experience I had buying my home 2.5 years ago. They completely over promise on turnaround times, act completely unprofessionally throughout the process and seem to have short-term memory loss as they miss details that were clearly laid out.

I post very reputable reviews and I would not recommend this company.

I worked with Rob Pavley at Kal Financial on my most recent home purchase and was very impressed with him and the company and will definitely work with them again.

I was referred to them by a friend who has financed several homes and multiplexes through them and am very happy with their thorough and helpful advice in navigating the mortgage options. He communicated well in helping me understand the process and the calculations. They were able to present several options and then helped me in evaluating so I could make the best decision.

Buyer beware. If you depend on these guys to get a mortgage, be prepared to get a high rate (with a lot of it hidden in points) and no guarantees in writing upfront unless you ask for it. After too many warning bells going off, I backed out and am glad I did so. Looks like too many other people got stuck with these guys and got to the point where their only choices were to back out of the offer and lose their deposit or accept Kal financial 's bad terms and live with it.

Run don't walk! Worst experience ever! Daniel the loan officer made promises he didn't keep including telling us not to worry the company was causing delays in our close of escrow because the company would cover the daily costs. Miscommunication would have been a welcome relief because no communication is what we got. When we went to he operations manager Karla she pretended to try to assist but then would disappear for days at a time with no follow up. Finally went to the owner David Lawver who also made promises to step in and help but apparently he meant just for one morning and after

I doubt if anyone at KAL financial will even look at this review because they obviously didn't respond to the comments I made on the signing documents, which indicated that this was the worst financial transaction I have ever experienced. I say that having spent almost 20 years working in the financial industry! This is also coming from someone who has an 800 credit score, an investment account worth twice the value of the loan and a paid off home

TL;DR - Beware! Nice people, great customer service -- but they delivered the WORST possible result for me. (Worked with Ryan and Mark at KAL Financial.) My advice - don't be fooled by their great customer service, but if you do engage them - don't rely on them. Run a parallel process with other lenders.

I've finally, finally gotten out of the bind that KAL Financial put me in - and finally have the time to de-compress and reflect -- and frankly, I finally have the time to get angry.

I went to David to see if I can get a pre-approve to purchase a property under my own name. My situation was a little unusual at that time (in the middle of a divorce and with on-going title/mortgage with my ex, and cash enough for a new down payment).

After we went thru all the paperworks and multiple calls later - I was pre-approved and should go ahead with shopping for a property.

A month later, I found my dream home. He said we can close the deal within 30 days. After 50 days, many many calls, meetings, documents, David came back saying that I am not cleared to purchase the house. Therefore

If you work for refinance, they just take their own time, no response nothing, other side if you try to have a new loan/new customer they are very quick...

Mine is initiated a month back, still he says 15 day lock, and done deal.. but never happens...
