Some visual conditions cannot be treated in the conventional manner with just glasses, contact lenses and/or patching, and are best resolved through a program of Vision Therapy. Our evaluations determine the patient's visual and motor skill level. Vision Therapy is then programmed to meet specific needs for development of proper visual, perceptual and motor abilities.
Sensory processing dysfunction exists when sensory signals don't get organized into appropriate responses. It can affect people in only one of the senses or multiple senses. What is the difference between Vision Therapy and Occupational Therapy? We do not treat the eyes as separate entities, but as a part of the total eye-mind-body connection.

Bioptic telescopes function like mini binoculars to help you see clearly, and they attach to your regular classes. The end result is the ability to see much more clearly and without strain.
Dr. Serrano provides all phases of optometric care but has a special interest and expertise in developmental optometry. Dr. Serrano is a qualified with the Visual Field Awareness System applied to address visual field loss.
Dr. Serrano, and his highly skilled and experienced staff, provide diagnostic services, evaluation and treatment for all phases of binocular dysfunction, ocular motor dysfunction, convergence insufficiency, amblyopia, low vision disorders, as well as, vision disorders that have occurred as a result of traumatic brain injury, cerebral vascular accident (stroke), learning disabilities, and autism spectrum disorder.
