Using very fine, hair-thin and single-use surgical stainless steel needles, on specific points along the body, Acupuncture is able to restore balance, correct disharmony and activate the body's own healing powers. Once nutritional deficiencies are accurately identified and immediately addressed, patients are enabled to heal.
Dr. Adriana Rodriguez is a practitioner of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, licensed in the state of Florida and is nationally certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Adriana attended the Florida College of Integrative Medicine where she acquired a Bachelors in Professional Health Studies and a Masters degree in Oriental Medicine.
The sterile, single-use needles used during acupuncture are different from any other type of medical instrument. They are fine and flexible and are usually not felt initially, upon insertion. Once your energy is successfully conducted towards the needle, patients then report experiencing a sense of heaviness, numbness, or electric stimulation at the needle site, or along the accompanying portion of the acupuncture channel being stimulated.
The initial discovery of Acupuncture took place in East Asia, where illness has always been related to as an impact of not only physical cause, but also of various mental and emotional stresses of life. Based on this holistic approach, we examine illness from the perspective that stress causes disharmony and eventually imbalance, which disrupts a person's ability to effectively deal with stress.

I have been receiving acupuncture treatments and medical massage from Awaken for several months to treat auto-immune issues. Every person I have encountered in this office has treated me with such kindness. The acupuncture doctors and massage therapists are kind and compassionate, and are very knowledgeable experts at what they do. Everyone I have encountered, including the receptionists, truly make me feel that they have my best interest at heart. Their attitude makes me feel that my healing is important to them. I always leave feeling uplifted and helped. I highly recommend this practice!

I got my FIRST Brazilian done by Michelle. Honestly I am so grateful to have found this place and meeting her. She doesn’t sugar cost anything(no pun intended). She made sure I knew that the length I had was going to hurt but I took it like a champ. She did an amazing job! She is super friendly and sweet. She always made sure I was okay. Totally going back!

I have been coming here for two months now and it has far exceeded my expectations. Working with Dr. Lapwing and Awaken was amazing! The office made the initial intake process super easy and I could fill out all my paperwork at home, before coming in for my appointment. Dr Saima provided excellent care and service for me to walk out having been treated for exactly what I walked in for! She listened to my health concerns with compassion and treated me with phenomenal care. This office has a lot to offer the community, I cannot wait to come back! I am so grateful for Saima and her healing, calming, compassionate spirit. She is all the things you want in a medical provider and she goes above and beyond. The office at Awaken is clean, professional, and comfortable. I went in very skeptical after working with other acupuncturists in the past and I was amazing by the results. I had a severely painful ear infection yesterday and I am 85% better thanks to acupuncture and her supplement/herbal suggestions.
