You can sign up for a week or two, or come all summer if you want to immerse your child in martial arts culture and training.

Services
Mr. Flint is a tenth-degree black belt in Kenpo Karate, a seventh-generation kung-fu master registered with the World Kung-Fu Headquarters and a second-degree black belt in Iaido. His daughter Katrina and son Jared are both black belts. Mr. Flint started at West Wind in 1977 and has been teaching with us for over thirty-five years.
West Wind is awesome! Mr. Shah has a magical gift of combining firmness with humor to get the best possible work out of both of my kids. His energy is amazing and he imparts that energy to all the other teachers. As a corporate professional, my West Wind training not only offers me a balance to the business lifestyle-with its exercise regimen and concentration, but it has also given me more confidence and poise in my professional interaction.

We've been part of the West Wind family for about 7 1/2 years now. My oldest son started when he was in Kindergarten on a whim because he didn't like "ball sports" and we wanted him to do something for some additional exercise. That whim has turned into a second degree brown belt and a green belt for my younger son. We've been at the original Piedmont dojo, the Berkeley dojo, and then back to Piedmont with the new location. We've had multiple instructors over the years and loved all of them. This has been such a fantastic experience for us and we're not done yet

I have been at West Wind Schools since I was 6, and am now 20 years old. Growing up with West Wind taught me self defense skills, as well as self discipline. Martial arts has become a huge passion of mine because of the great teaching at West Wind. The 1 on 1 teaching style allows for quick improvement of skill as well as a strong bond between teacher and student. The group classes also allow you to socialize with other students.
This past week I was able to earn my 5th degree black belt all thanks to the help of Mr. Shah.
Back when I was 15, Mr. Shah helped my earn my 1st degree black belt.

Great Martial Arts School.
They teach mainly private lessons .
My son Jared started there at age 5 and is now 20. He just earned his 5th degree Black Belt.
He has changed so much through the years and become very confident, not just in self-defense but also in school and in life in general.
I highly recommend them, especially for children that need confidence and discipline.

Awesome! We have been here for one year and this has been an excellent experience for my son. The instructors are amazing. This is the perfect place to help your child build their confidence, and self esteem. Over the past year my son's personal discipline has improved making him more respectful and responsible. Finding a place where my son can learn in a supportive environment is important. So happy my sister and neighbor recommended West Wind for my son. I recommend them for people of all ages especially if you have a child suffering with social issues.
