Best hair stylist in Petaluma. Amazing color and cut at a very affordable price. Easy to make an appointment and can get last minute appointment because Kathy is accommodating. Very easy to park close to the salon. A plus that it is near Starbucks.

I have had different hair stylist over the years..good & bad.. But when I have experienced someone at the top of their game i rave about them.. Joseph by far leaves everyone else in the dust!! I have started greying & his coloring is absolutely beautiful.. He calls it Natural Plus!! I have long hair & he puts three or 4 colors, high & low lights!! I get compliments All the time.. Seven years ago I moved away from Sonoma County, only to return about a year ago. Joseph didn't miss a beat. He picked up right where he left off and where I wanted him to. He's an amazing colorist. It was nice to come home to someone familiar, knowledgeable, and talented!

There's one reason I drive to Petaluma from SF every month, and have for more years than I care to count: Kathy's the best hair colorist/stylist I've ever had. She does a masterful job at hiding my very aggressive gray hairs with color that's just perfect for my skin tone. I get compliments on the color all the time. The vibe in this small salon is really friendly and warm, and it's not unusual to be chatting with the other stylist, Joseph, and his client while you're there. Joseph has done my hair for at least 15 years. I have very fine and straight hair and was a dirty blonde before I went to see Joseph. He now does wonderful highlights on my hair and I look vibrant, full of life and many years younger. I have worn a classic Sassoon bob and he makes me look so wonderful. I am always getting compliments from other people regarding the cut and the color. There are so very few hair stylists that can highlight and make it look so totally natural. The last few years, Joeseph has cut color and styled my hair. I have always been impressed with how he makes it just right every time. My coloring is always beautiful with layers of color inter woven. He is a color master. Go see Joseph he is amazing !! It may have taken me years to find the ONE but now I have. Joseph does AMAZING color he's the master of color in my opinion. He has dyed my hair to dark brown, added red highlights ann blonde to full on natural looking highlights. I always get a ton of compliments about my color and highlights. He is very versatile. Sometimes you want some peace and quiet and the Shaar Salon offers this in spades. Let me explain, this salon is not in the downtown. It is in a neighborhood where parking is plentiful and the area quaint and comfortable. The vibe of the salon on the other hand is more lively and energetic than other places I used to go.
