Mike and Cheryl Tayara bought Orangeland Seafood in 1984 with hard-earned money and a whole lotta love. They developed a restaurant that not only their family could be a part of but that their customers could bring their families to be a part of. Throughout the years Orangeland has gone through several big changes from its original concept of fruit baskets to its current focus on providing the freshest seafood in town at the lowest prices.
Although Orangeland has changed quite a bit over the years, the original home-cooked recipes haven't changed. Customers from all over the United States stop in to enjoy a meal that reminds them of their southern roots. Customers can choose from meals and side orders on our menu or visit our fresh market with a variety of seasonal seafood.

If I could give them zero stars I would. I ordered 5 dinners on Friday night and 1 had hair in it, which was disgusting. After calling the restaurant numerous times (they do not answer their phone), leaving a voicemail, and messaging their fb page I got no callback. I called and spoke to Ali, the next morning who says he was the Manager and would call me back to rectify the issue! He also stated that they do not check their voicemail and that someone would be responding to my message as well. No call back, and I finally received a fb response and resolution 2 days later. Just nasty and poor customer

I have been a loyal customer for years. Today I was waiting in line & was next. The owner took a phone call, so I stood there & waited patiently. He had seen me in line. When he finished his call he looked at me, then looked at the customer that just walked in & said may I help you to him. He knew I was next. I then spoke up & he got very nasty with me & made a pretense about I should have moved up sooner. He was wrong, nasty, & yes, what he did was very racist. The person he chose to wait on first looked like him (my issue is not with the other customer...he did not move

Purchased three dishes yesterday. Two entrees, one order of fried shrimp. Upon arriving home, I delved into the shrimp, ate half of the order. I usually store dishes for later consumption. When I opened the first dinner, there was a gnat that flew out of the box. Didn't think much of it. But when I opened the second entree, OH BOY!!!, gnats everywhere. Had to throw everything in the garbage. The next day, I was pestered by the tiny flying insects. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!

I have been watching their TV ads for 20 years or so. Finally tried them. Very clean. Polite service. Food not so great. Fried shrimp and oysters were over-breaded/battered. Over cooked. Sweet potato fries were over cooked. Unsweet tea was slightly sweet. Portions were good but quality not so much. I checked out the fish market. Small, dingy, wet floor, poor selection of fresh fish.

The food was pretty good, however, the service was absolutely terrible. As a server myself i would never act toward or speak to a table the way our server addressed my boyfriend. she was rude, aggressive and yelled at him across the restaurant. even after i tipped her and the cashier. i will never go back.

Stopped in on a Wednesday night around 7 pm to dine in. Parking was adequate. Ordered the oyster plate and water at the counter. Was my first time there...had to ask if I should just sit anywhere. Came with fried oysters, 3 hushpuppies, rice with stewed tomatoes and coleslaw. Coleslaw was okay but had a tad too much mayo for me. Rice and stewed tomatoes were pretty good. Hushpuppies were dense and oily and dry...couldn't really eat them. Fried oysters were alright...but honestly I only finished them because I didnt want to waste the $14 spent on the meal. Front dining area was okay with only

Never will I ever order food from this poor excuse of a restaurant again!!! After waiting an hour ,my order still wasn't ready!! The caucasian female at the register was very rude and nasty, I stood in line and when it was my turn she ignored me first, then said I had to wait, she didn't even ask was it a pick up or was I eating in. This older looking latino dude just stud there looking stupid, once I had enough I told her to cancel the seafood platter for Daphne!!! U can never get a dime from me Orangeland seafood until your establishment is run by more competent professional folks.

Good fish at an affordable price! Super nice cashier too! They have a fish and shrimp buffet on Tuesday for $9.99. Great deal! But I should caution you, their portions on the regular menu are large. I got the 3 pc bream dinner and 1/2 shrimp. This fed two people over two days for less than $20.00! Their crab looks great and I can't wait to get back up to Flo town to stop in again!

Great seafood restaurant! They have all you can eat fish Buffett on Tuesdays, but I ordered off of the menu. Shrimp and sweet potatoes fried to perfection. Sautéed fish was good, for sautéed. Everything was seasoned well. The cost can add up quickly as there is an up charge and for flounder upgrade on a dinner. In all for a seafood restaurant in Florence SC it is very good! I we'll definitely visit again.
If I could recommend one thing, I would ask the restaurant to add a grilled option.

An unexpected nice dinner. This was a random stop but glad I did. Tuesdays offer a buffet so tonight (Wed) was quiet. Food was served hot in less than 10 mins after ordering. Portion size was more than the price. I had shrimp (12) and catfish (4 filets) combo plate with sweet potato fries and hush puppies. This was more food than I needed. Great dinner and a very polite waitress.

My mother saw their advertisement on TV and had to go. I was hesitant because the restaurant is 53 miles from here. Because of the distance I decided to checkout their reviews before going. Well after reading the reviews, off we went. Food is good, not great. I have to agree with the other reviewers that the staff is not very friendly. The waitress was initially very gruff but as we approached tip time she warmed up and was super friendly. Almost Jekyll and Hyde... I doubt I would return.

The food is fresh; actually I was looking forward to the shrimp after having the shrimp at Hams seafood and dinner. The shrimp here appeared to be fully battered; the one thing that takes away from the food here, is the amount of salt that is apparently in the ingredients. I prefer Hams seafood for this very reason; too much sodium in s lunch experience.

Food is on point here!!!! The owner seems a little disinterested in his clientele and it shows hence the 3 stars, would have been 5 stars for this hole in the wall gym but owners need to put more smiles on their faces as they take their customers money. However, the fried fish here is absolutely delicious.

The food here is OK. The fish market usually has a good quality of fish and the worker are nice. But the owners, now that depend on what day it is. They are rude to people of color and I hate this.
However, this town is small and the need for seafood is great, so even in 2014 they get away with this type of behavior. What's crazy is that the owners are a minority and the majority of their business is from people of color.
