Although L&D Automotive opened in 1995, the roots were already being planted by our owner, David Williams, in 1980. During high school, David had a passion for cars and an opportunity to work on them. David utilized this experience and his growing passion to open L&D Automotive, and since then the shop has earned honors such as a AAA Approval Rating and winning "Best of Wylie" in our local newspaper for the last 18 years!

I had the transmission go out on 2017 Chevy truck and was in a bind as there were no rent cars to be had. I had found a place to get the transmission done but the wait was 3-4 weeks out before they would be able to take care of me. I called the guys over at L&D to see if they could help. They got my truck on a Saturday when they were closed and had me back on the road at the end of business day Wednesday with a new transmission. These guys are the best. I have had numerous repairs done to my truck and my daughters truck by this team and they always come through with excellent service and reliability

Just moved to Texas and developed a tranny leak on my truck during the trip. I went to L&D to have it diagnosed. Nick Miriani the manager took my truck to the shop and inspected it with his mechanic. He came back and presented me with the news that I had a front transmission seal leak and other leaks and it would cost $2,132.44 to fix the leaks!!! I asked him many questions and he was very certain the problem was the front tranny seal. I left with my vehicle to consider what to do and went down the street to another shop figuring I had nothing to lose by seeing what another shop would say.

I took my car in for a routine oil change and an evaluation on my back tires expecting new tires quote. I had taken to Discount tire the day before ( where I live close too) and was told I needed at least two tires and that they couldn't see why my back right tire was constantly loosing air. I was pleasantly surprised to hear my tires still had "life" and I can have them look at them again at my next oil change; they found a nail in the tire , in which they took me back into the shop and pointed out ( on tread closer to inside of tire) and patched it for me. These guys were very honest in what we needed to get done to our 2002 Audi. They called each time with an update and to get authorization to do the work. We greatly appreciate their work. The most dishonest repair shop I have ever dealt with. Took my truck in because it was intermittently making an awful grinding noise and I couldn’t break the lug nuts loose. I asked them to break my lug nuts loose and diagnose the issue and said it might be the wheel bearing but I don’t know. They call and say it is the wheel bearing and it will… be $500. I said your charging me $300 for the part can I go to oreilly and buy my own part. Of course they said no. Great experience here! This is my first time review an auto repair shop, but I’m glad to for this one. I was referred here by another honest mechanic (who knew so many existed) who told me American cars were not his speciality but knew these guys did great work. They are very up front with their pricing. They try the lowest cost fix first. They called me each time they needed to do something to make sure it was okay. The receptionist is super sweet. I took my Jeep in for a pre-purchase inspection and they gave me an estimate to repair it. I bought the Jeep and brought it back in so they could get it all fixed up. David at L & D told me my egr cooler was cracked, 4200 fix. Got phone quote from ford house, 3100. Told David I was taking it to ford, he then attempted to buy my truck. Ford diagnosed, and told me David had lied, no cracks, and no moisture. The only problem was my turbo was sticking. Still a big cost Sadly I used L & D several times before getting a second opinion. David is a very likeable guy, perfect for a person like him. Don't be charmed. It's not worth it.
