In 1995, Foundations Recovery Network (FRN) was founded to serve and improve the lives of individuals experiencing difficulties with both substance abuse and mental health issues, and to assist their families in understanding how to cope with their loved one's struggles.
The goal was to fully meet the needs of those with co-occurring conditions, providing integrated treatment services staffed by professionals specializing in both mental health and chemical dependency.In fall 2003, FRN decided it was time to apply this approach to a world class, state-of-the-art healing center in the beautiful, natural setting of Malibu, and the idea for The Canyon at Peace Park was born.

The one hundred and twenty acres at Peace Park are arguably the most exquisite environment imaginable. Recognized for aesthetic beauty and spiritual qualities, it is truly a glorious oasis for healing. It is this serene and contained environment which permits a clear focus on the internal work that we help you to address.
Private treatment is tried and effective. The Canyon values the evidence-based and proven recovery techniques offered by all top addiction care providers. You will receive Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, dialectical behavior therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Every one of these practices is backed by the most up-to-date addiction recovery science and studies.
At The Canyon, we assist each client in moving through a four-level residential treatment program that is customized to their unique needs. Each level features differing characteristics and includes new privileges and challenges, from detox and stabilization to reflection, preparation and action.
Counselors, therapists and medical professionals all work as a team with the client to provide the best possible outcome as they enter the recovery phase.Activities and a wide-range of therapies are all part of the treatment process at The Canyon. In addition to our state-of-the-art residential treatment program, we offer additional programs that supplement and support the treatment and recovery process.

Our peaceful retreat of 16 beds offers a private environment of recovery that is singular in its offerings. With a primary therapist to patient ratio of 1:4, each patient receives specialized attention. Every individual is matched with an internist, psychiatrist and primary therapist to serve as his or her core clinical team.
Our "Heal The Family" workshop at The Canyon is conducted the second weekend of every month, including multi-family groups as well as individual family sessions. There is an emphasis on educating families on the disease of addiction and how to deal with what their loved one is going through as well as the issues it creates in their own lives.
