Avalon was a huge game changer...truly changed my son's life. He was treated for dual diagnosis in April of 2020. Spent 30 days on site and then went to the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Avalon has an amazing program that treats BOTH addiction and mental illness. All the clinicians were top notch but we are especially thankful for Roxan, his therapist and for his psychiatrist, Dr. Shapiro. He's been clean for 6 months and continues to use the tools he learned at Avalon...our life is so much better because of this organization...and we are so grateful.

Avalon gave me back my life. Prior to going there I was disappointed to wake up most mornings. I'm now happy to have a positive outlook and feel hopeful about my future. I've been to a few other programs in Los Angeles and Avalon was far superior to any other ones that I've tried. The staff was incredibly helpful, kind and understanding. The accommodations were extremely comfortable and the food was outstanding.

to Thanksgiving 2017, terribly confused, hurt , and depressed, over my precious Robin dumping me! Being such a fabulous guy, how could this possibly happen to Mr Joe? At some point, I simply needed to admit, that I could not fix my discomfort, even though I "appeared" to have it all! I thought I'd just chill in my fancy Suite Room, ignore the
therapy, and the "feelings" meetings, silly yoga, meditation, look at the ocean, read books, and do biz on the laptop. etc etc Thankfully... I realized....OH HOW WASTEFUL

Avalon is hands-down the BEST treatment center for both mental illness and substance abuse. The staff is friendly and thoughtful and genuinely cares about their clients overall success and well being. In addition to getting the best care out there the views and accommodations are lovely and the food is delicious and the kitchen will create custom meals depending on what your needs are. I would absolutely recommend this treatment facility to any of my friends or loved ones!!

Avalon Malibu gave me my life back and helped me live life without prescribed benzos. After taking Xanax and clonozapam for anxiety for 10 years I prayed and searched for the perfect, soft place to land to end my addiction. The answer was this amazing place with a program second to NONE! Coming from a healthcare background as s patient advocate in a hospital, I can truthfully say that I could not ever imagine a kinder, more compassionate and professionally capable staff.
Their program is amazing if you just do the work. 90 days later, life is so much happier and lighter!

The clinical, administrative, and residential staff are exemplary, caring professionals who are passionate about providing support, empathy, and love. The grounds are incredible, the views spectacular, and the food is far better than most restaurants. Avalon Malibu treats Dual Diagnosis Substance Abuse as well as Primary Mental Health in two magnificent homes overlooking the Pacific ocean in Malibu. The Avalon team is made up of caring and dedicated individuals who will make you feel extremely comfortable even on your worst day. This is by far one of the safest places to get real help.

There are a lot of treatment programs in the Los Angeles area but only a few are quality. Avalon is the very best at what they do. They actually care about the client. I always feel confident when I send a client to Avalon. I know they will be treated with the best care. I would send a family member there. Their staff is THE BEST!

I did 90 day treatment and had great success. The staff is absolutely amazing specifically Ronnie. & Peggy .Ronnie, made all the difference in my stay. He took his time helping me and explaining recovery issues. I always felt safe and confident things were going to be taken care of. I, love the new after care program and enjoy the great efforts Peggy and Ronnie do in treatment and after care.

My experience at Avalon helped me get back on track. It is a beautiful location overlooking the ocean. Avalon does a great job helping clients enjoy the comforts of home while being in treatment. The accommodations and cuisine are excellent. I believe environment makes a huge difference in recovery and Avalon's environment makes it stand out.

I read Fariba's comments. Same exact experience with my daughter. Small incident, inexperienced staff did not know how to handle. My adopted daughter who suffers from ptsd and abandonment issues was thrown on the street. Told never to come back. But they kept my $$. She is still traumatized my the whole incident - 2 years ago.

My experience at Avalon was outstanding and I consider the time I spent there to mark a major turning point in my life. I went there to deal with mental health issues, and after being back at home for a month now I realize just how much they helped me.
I would have to say that the thing that I appreciated the most about Avalon (besides its beautiful property and gorgeous views) would be the staff. They were always so amazing to me. This place is a Joke!!!! Called twice refused to look at my insurance card wanted to send me to another place. WHAT A SCAM!!!! Don't even bother they are way over priced for treatment you can get else where. Just Stay Away!!!!! I have read nothing but bad stuff about this place, I wouldn't send anyone here ever...

Unqualified and unsafe. Sure, it may get some high ratings for the luxury element, but this place is not to be trusted with the life and care of your loved ones. It's too great of a mistake to make - by overselling their capabilities, they put a family member of mine at a huge risk, because they had lied about their ability to handle her mental health condition. For your family and your finances, do not trust this business.

Recently I had a nephew who entered the program.
I wish I could say that his short lived experience there was positive.
On the contrary it was a horrible and negative experience.
He did not get the promised treatment and was left in a vulnerable and dangerous situation.
They had no problem taking a big chunk of our money and then collected insurance money on top of this.
Very unethical and this should be about the child and addict and not about the greed and the money to take advantage of troubled kids.
Stay far away from this place who promises help and delivers absolutely nothing.

OMG this place is outstanding in every way. I can't even begin to express how much I owe my life to Avalon Malibu. It's a dual-diagnosis addiction treatment center specializing in treating a wide variety of addictions. Before coming to Avalon my life was entirely up in the air. I had lost control, I was severely depressed and traumatized, and I was wanting to give up. As a young 20 year old male who had grown up in an abusive addict home, I had developed a severe eating disorder to cope with the stress.
