Services
Here at Crosslake Veterinary Hospital, we know how important your pets are to you and that is why we are devoted to providing the best care practices and services available. Using state-of-the-art equipment, keeping abreast of advances in technology, and our commitment to your pet's health are just a few areas that set us apart.
Crosslake Veterinary Hospital was built in 1997 with the existing lobby, two exam rooms, and surgical and treatment space. In 2007, an addition was added to create a dental suite, a laundry and grooming room, an isolation ward, and increased storage space. In 2011, Drs. Kyle Anderson and Rachael Johnson took over ownership, and since then, have continued to grow in staff, services and patients.
Crosslake Veterinary Hospital is always ready to welcome new clients and patients to our family. We do our best to accommodate our regular clients as well as those in need while visiting the area. If you have any questions or comments about how we can care for your pet, please contact us today at (218) 692-4400.
We ask that children under 18 do not bring their pets in for veterinary care without a parent or guardian present. Do we have your authorization to fax or verbally transfer records to another veterinarian, upon their request?* Do we have your authorization to provide vaccine history to a boarding/grooming facility, upon their request?*
What brand of food do you feed your dog and how much volume of that food does your dog eat per day?* Have you noted any new lumps or bumps on your pet you are worried about? Any previously discussed lumps that are changing significantly since the last wellness exam?* Please indicate which products your dog receives for routine heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick control.

If i could give this place 100 Stars I would. Our family small dog of 17 years started passing on a Saturday morning. Our home clinic was closed. I called in a panic and they fit us right in. They treated me and our pet with such grace and class. Made a horrible situation tollerable at least. Vet tech that dealt with me, while weaping in a mask, was perfect and caring. I cannot thank this place and it's employees enough. Highly recommend.

Crosslake vet clinic did a remarkable job in removing two tumors from my dog . Took very good care of him and we were very impressed how they went thru all of the medications we had to give blaze when, how often and how long. Very impressed overall with the care for my dog.

We just moved to the area and needed to get our dog in for an exam, they were very professional over the phone, contacted our previous Vetrinarian clinic to get the chart and when the Dr came in the room, I knew she reviewed the chart cause she knew all about our dog. She so nice and very professional. We will definitely bring our other dog there too. Thank you for caring.

Cross lake Veterinary Hospital is a wonderful Vet. The app they use makes it very easy to make an appointment and keep your dog’s info up to date. The vet and staff were very friendly and caring with my dog. They took great care of him!

We are seasonal with a cabin in Fifty Lakes. Our dog Finn tore open his front leg on a nail while chasing chipmunks today. Our vet is three hours away so we called Cross Lake Vet. We have never been there before. It’s Sunday afternoon of Memorial Day weekend. Dr. Johnson took our call and said she would call in her vet tech to assist. We were there within half an hour. They thoroughly examined our boy and put stitches in to repair the tear. We can’t thank them enough for their professional and caring approach. They explained everything before hand and sent us home with detailed instructions

It looks like greed has even taken over cross lake vet clinic too! My dog Sylvia was having an emergency, they made me an appointment for 4 hours, then waiting in the car a person grabs my poor dog, then Dr Kyle said I could take her home if I waited till 5:30, I waited, he said surgery would be in the morning, there was no surgery, but I still had to pay for it all, with a mere $200.00 taken off! Dr Kyle used to be the best and most fair vet, not anymore, I guess they need the money for the new additions, I had to use my savings I had for my own dental work I badly need! I hope your new building

I don't even know where to begin. I'm so disappointed and angry. For starters, both our visits we had to wait outside for a vet tech to come get our dog for our scheduled visit 10+minutes after our appt time (Covid, you have to wait outside). At 1 appt we waited so long I had to call again, was put on hold, my number got dropped and I had to call again. I had already explained to the reception we were at spot 4, my name and outside, which she clarified. They "couldn't" call me back only to find out they had been trying to call my husband. Why they didn't just come

Great staff all around. I have used them for general pet wellness visits and emergency care. The facility is clean, the staff is knowledgeable and caring. They use an app that documents your pets vaccinations and sends reminders when they are due for their next appointment which I found to be very beneficial.

Dr. Kyle Anderson and his wife, Rachel Johnson, purchased Crosslake Veterinary Hospital in 2011. They are an excellent team for the care of your critters.
You can expect to be greeted by a courteous receptionist, clean exam rooms, friendly doctors, and caring technicians. It is currently a great place to take your critter for its care.

They are the most friendly vets I have ever dealt with in over 15 years - husband and wife Animal Docs Kyle & Rachael have been our go-to vets since we found them after moving up from the Twin Cities last year. Their services are excellent, and they can do almost anything needed on-site.
I personally have been to a bunch of vets from Brainerd to Pine River trying to find one that I was happy with taking all my pets to - and while I drive by two vets on my way to Crosslake Vet, it is 100% worth it.
The vet techs and staff are friendly and caring, the prices are cheaper than in the Twin Cities

Horrible. A vet more focused on the cash register than helping pets in need. Laid a $100 premium in addition to the $70 emergency care charge when we arrived at 5:02 -- before 5 no charge. Staff did not warn us (despite knowing we had a 40 minute drive and spoke to them twice on the phone) and we could not afford this charge. Took us out of the waiting room to talk to us outside! Unreal. Cost us a day in treating a very sick dog, since by the time this runaround was over all area vets were closed. Go to Lakeland in Baxter or Country Doc in Pine River. Avoid, avoid, avoid!
