An annual eye examination is essential in protecting your vision and health. Before the actual exam we will ask you a few questions about your vision history. If you currently wear contacts or glasses, it is a good idea to bring them to your appointment. During your comprehensive eye exam, a series of tests are performed to assess your vision and the overall health of your eyes.
Berry Eye Care offers contact lenses for many different lifestyles and vision needs. Contact lenses are now available for vision problems that could not be corrected with contacts in the past. If you have been unsuccesful with contact lenses, Berry Eyecare can give you a second chance. Ask about our in-house rebates.
While eye glasses themselves are not new, they are being designed by high profile names and are made with the most innovative of materials. Frames are generally made from plastic or metal. Now hypoallergenic solutions are available if you suffer from skin allergies or you can request a strong plastic such as polycarbonate.
A cataract is a clouding that develops in the lens of the eye, occurring in varying degrees of opacity. When a cataract develops, it begins to obscure the light filtered to the lens, preventing the lens from focusing properly causing vision loss. Cataracts occur during the aging process when proteins in the lens begin to clump together forming a cloud over the lens.
As one of the five senses, vision is an important part of your child's growth. If your child is in school and unable to see the information that is presented visually, they may be at risk of having their academic performance negatively affected. Be sure that your child gets routine eye exams to detect any signs of nearsightedness, farsightedness and/or astigmatism so that any treatment may be addressed early on with eyeglasses or contact lenses.

I had a great experience here. Very professional, knowledgeable, and thorough. Will definitely be coming back for my next eye exam.

Dr Berry no longer practices and a new male doctor has taken her place. Very disappointed. He was rude. I actually wanted to tell him that he was rude, and if he wants patients to come back, that he would need to change his attitude. Unfortunately, I held my tongue. I will not return to this practice. The staff was excellent which was one good thing about my visit.

Had my first eye exam ever with the kind folks at Berry Eyecare and Optical today! They check your temperature and ask Covid related questions (basically making sure you're not sick) before letting you inside. Everyone working was really kind and easy to talk to! It's refreshing to be able to go into a place and have them make you feel comfortable and welcome. They sanitized everything in between uses. Every test they did, they would explain how it worked and what it was meant for. Also had an awesome selection of eyewear that I'll be purchasing from soon! Highly recommend this

I LOVE this place! Everyone is always so kind and welcoming when you walk through the door. Dr. Berry is great! She is very thorough and really cares about you. They are currently closed due to the lock-down, but they were super quick to answer my emails and shipped contacts to me in three days. I can't say enough good things!

I am more than extremely fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Berry. Due to my own unique needs, dealing with both Keratoconus and Amblyopia both, if it wasn’t for Dr. Berry and her attentive staff (Christy in particular) I would most likely be unable to function in life! No exaggeration. Forever Blessed and Thankful for crossing paths with Dr. Berry 10 yrs ago.
I never write reviews for anything or anybody....

The office is so welcoming you feel like you are at home. Dr. Amanda Berry is so professional and kind. My glasses were both fashionable and comfortable. They go well above and beyond to make sure you are fitted correctly and talk to you about how best take care of your vision needs. They also work with insurance companies to ensure your needs are met and painlessly as possible.

I have seen Dr. Berry for 22+ years. I followed her from Hickory Hollow Mall to Nashboro Village to her current location in Green Hills. I feel like she is family at this point. My mother has also seen her almost as long as I have, and now my wife has gone to her for a few years. Dr. Berry is awesome! She is kind and laid-back, but also very straightforward about your eye health. She always wants the best for her patients. If you have vision insurance (VSP is best, btw), the annual appointments are extremely affordable.

I've been seeing (haha) Dr. Berry since I moved to TN.
Yes, things can be what i consider pricey. I'm a single parent. A cheeseburger is pricey.
She caught my glaucoma before it caught me. She's been great about helping me get the best i can for my insane prescription (i am like Helen Keller 2.0 but not).
The other doc in the office even said my kids have the most medically BORING eyes ever. No need for anything for them unless I want to spend a lot of money on sports vision training for my daughter.
I'm sure any negative reviews might come from a lack of understanding of corrective eye products

I've held off on writing this review for quite a while but I hit my limit with this group.

I saw Dr. Berry over a year ago for an eye infection the day before I was going out of town. The appointment was fine and everyone was nice enough. However, I discovered several weeks later that I had been over-charged for my co-pay and called to inquire about getting my balance back. I called several times over the next few months and spoke to various people all of whom assured me that "the check was in the mail" on several occasions. I finally gave up because it just wasn't worth it

Nice. I posted a two star review because of the $950 out of pocket experience I had with this practice, my left lens is clear glass so I'm basically one-eyed. I posted my review two months after my poor experience - low and behold after six months I get a bill for another $30! Caveat emptor with this business, way overpriced and the product is horrible. Go to a discount store before you go to Berry Eyecare.

The office environment was nice and clean, and the receptionist and optometrist's assistant were extremely helpful and friendly. Otherwise, my experience was very poor. This is not the place to go for affordable eye care. They really encourage (push) you to get an MRI pic of the retina that costs extra, because most insurance won't cover it. I declined, but would have been charged for it at the end had I not been paying attention.
While the main purpose of my visit was to have an eye issue looked at, the doctor did a full examination and told me I needed new glasses and daily wear contacts. When

Outstanding practice! My family has seen Dr. Berry for the last 4 years. We appreciate the time she spends to ensure that all of our questions are answered during our appointments. The staff is professional and very knowledgeable in assisting with selecting frames. We would not go anywhere else.

This review is not for the staff. They're nice enough and dr. Berry is very nice. What I have an issue with is going in for a yearly exam and it costing $244. and then them telling me I've also had a "contact fitting" I've worn contacts for 18 years. There wasn't a fitting, just simply looking at a lesser prescription in my eye. One eye. I don't believe I should have to pay for that as a "fitting" time to find a new eye doctor that doesn't charge for a "fitting" and just a year exam instead

I have a very difficult prescription and knew I would be a challenge for anyone. Dr. Berry not only has the clinical skills necessary , but also an extremely patient and calm demeanor, which allowed her to spend more then adequate time on my case to get my prescription absolutely perfect. She is complemented by a wonderfully caring and competent staff to make the entire experience wonderful.

Went to see Jessica Durham and am 100% satisfied. she really listened to me and gave me options regarding my contacts prescription change and how to handle being on the cusp of needing multi-focal lenses. with a simple adjustment in one eye, I am seeing better than I was just days before! Dr. Durham is tops!!

I just looked at your Face Book page and saw the great new frames you recently got in stock from the New Market. I can't wait for my appointment this month to check out the new frames myself. You always have the best selection of frames and my personal favorite line of Lafont frames. See you next week and thank you for the great eye care.

Years ago I needed a new contact lens prescription and found a nearby optometrist, I walked into the office and met Dr. Amanda Berry who has guided me through my vision needs for about 10 years now.

At the time I had no insurance and Dr. Berry helped me to afford having a professionals attention and assistance, later Dr. Berry found that I have a serious and rare eye condition, she worked with me through modern medicine and even to my surprise and pleasure she offered natural healing alternatives.

I went here for a simple contact fitting. After one week in my contacts, they still did not feel right so I called to see if they would see me again and if so, how much the fee would be. I went back one week later and Dr. Berry herself made sure to perform multiple unnecessary procedures because she was under the impreession my health insurance would pay for it. The best example is she took unnecessary pictures of both of my eyes with her expensive camera without first asking me and without telling me what the charge would be. This is a critical time for many people. Unfortunately this is what

A visit to Dr. Berry is like a catch-up visit with a girlfriend who just happens to be asking you to read numbers and letters on the wall. Even with my irrational fear of any medical professional, I have never felt nervous or uncomfortable there. The whole staff is wonderful; they are always upbeat, eager to help and they genuinely care.

They get you in and out as quickly as possible while still doing a thorough job. These people really know their stuff.

The office is very cute and trendy. It's in a great location in the Green Bank building in Green Hills.

They have a great selection
