Services
NuVue Eyecare offers comprehensive vision evaluations to detect an array of temporary and degenerative conditions affecting the eye. This includes conditions of the cornea and retina as well as peripheral components of the eye such as tear-ducts and eye lids. A thorough eye examination can detect glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and retinal/vitreal detachment.
NuVue's on-site optical lab offers the latest in advanced material and coating technologies for creating your custom optical lenses. Our coatings include options for anti-reflective, anti-static and smudge resistant lenses as well as hard-coat, mirrored, tinted, UV minimizing and photo-chromatic lenses.
At NuVue you'll find one of Nashville's most unique and extensive collections of designer and hand-crafted frames. We carry over fifty lines: from hand-made Gucci and Lafont frames and Denmark's Kliik collection to German-crafted OGI eyewear and the fashion-forward and quirky Etnia Barcelona. Optical Conference tomography (OCT) is the latest technological advance which provides cross-sectional images of the retina in real time. It is similar to ultrasound and MRI, but uses light waves, and therefore allows the production of higher resolution images. OCT provides a histological view in situ and real time.
In standard lenses, offered just about everywhere, when one looks away from the center of the lens, inherent optical flaws appear, causing distortion and the "Coke bottle" effect. Freeform lenses minimize this optical restriction by broadening the clear center, so when the user looks to the sides, the clarity remains just as good as the center "sweet spot" of the lens.

Nobody likes high-pressure, dubious sales tactics. Unfortunately, that's what our family experienced at Nuvue Eyecare.
We originally chose to do business here because of its close proximity to our home.
Following my wife's eye exam, we were told - not asked to make her selection for glasses. Despite objecting, and explaining she couldn't see the frames because of the sensitivity in her dilated eyes, the store associates pressed on - putting a pair in her hands and saying "just get these, they look great." Again, she objected and said that she couldn't even see the

I don't know what has changed here, but I just got screwed out of $600. A couple of years ago, I bought new frames and two pairs of lenses from this place (one for my old frames as a spare). Every thing was great. I went back recently for an eye exam and was given a new prescription for my newer frames. Something wasn't right. I couldn't see as well as with the old prescription in the old frames. They redid the lenses twice with no discernable improvement. I explained the problem in detail, but it seemed no one wanted to really listen. Instead they kept trying to gaslight me into

Walked in today to see about walk-in availability. They did make me aware they are typically appointment only however the staff was super welcoming and adaptive to help work me in! Dr. Gavami was very thorough and informative! He took time to explain his technique and findings in a way to help understand why my eyes are how they are! I've been a customer for 3-4 years of NuVue. I've used several of the large chain optical stores over the years with very mixed results. The staff at NuVue are what truly separates them from their competitors. The front desk staff is friendly and easy to work with. Dr. Gavami takes time with each patient and loves to get to know his patients and their family. He is also concerned about his patients' overall health.
I have bought frames over the years prior to coming here that I ended up hating. The NuVue staff takes time to guide you and can let you know if your prescription

I always enjoy my annual visit to NuVue! Even though it's going to the "doctor", it's always fun trying on the glasses and everyone is so friendly! I much prefer NuVue with their personalized service than someplace like Lenscrafters where you feel like a number. I'll continue to patronize NuVue as long as I still need help seeing!

I have just left NuVue after waiting an hour for my appointment. I was asked to arrive 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. I arrived early, did my paperwork and watched for an hour as other patients were taken back. One of which was still filing paperwork.
I really wanted to like this place. I value my time and friendly service. This place failed.

The wonderful people at nuvue went out of their way to help me last minute. I recently decided to get lasik and found out last minute that I would not be able to wear contacts for the three weeks prior to the surgery. I was in a panic since I didn't have glasses. I called last minute and they offered to stay open 30 minutes past closing to accommodate me. Not only were they super friendly and helpful, but they made sure I would have my brand new pair of prescription sunglasses ready in only 3 days. Simply amazing service. I highly recommend.

I have been in special contact lenses prescribed by a very reputable eye doctor in town who specializes in corrective lenses for fairly bad astigmatism. The lenses he prescribed were causing corneal warpage and this causes all types of issues when you are out of your lenses, not to mention deteriorating the health of your cornea.
After discussing with my old doctor and making no progress with corrective action, I went to Dr Gavami for a second opinion. My wife had encouraged me to give him a shot! At the initial exam, he asked me to get out of the lenses I was in and give my corneas 2 weeks
