My name is Tom Martin and in addition to being a home inspector for over 12 years, I have 17 years of construction experience in building homes. I have completed over 4,000 home inspections. I was fortunate to apprentice under Charles P. Magri, former president of the Builders Association of Greater Boston, the Bristol-Norfolk Home Builders Association and the Home Builders Association of Massachusetts.
The following chart details the predicted life expectancy of appliances, products, materials, systems and components. Consumers and inspectors and other professionals advising their clients should note that these life expectancies have been determined through research and testing based on regular recommended maintenance and conditions of normal wear and tear, and not extreme weather (or other) conditions, neglect, over-use or abuse.

Tom conducted two extremely detailed and in each their own way challenging home inspections for us in 2021 and 2022. In both cases he was detailed and thorough in what he found, leaving no stone unturned. That said, what sets Tom apart is his ability to explain the ins and outs of any issue/problem, as well as offer a solution or at least recommend a course or action. Tom is helpful weeks and even months after the inspection is performed, standing by his work and continuing to answer questions as needed. They say the best ability is availability, and Tom has that in spades as he is quick to answer

Tom did an amazing job with our inspection! He was so thorough and went the extra mile to discover all the good and bad the house had to offer. He explained everything in detail. He took pictures of everything that needed to be addressed. He was honest and I understand why the name of the business is quality check because it certainly was a quality inspection. I would definitely recommend him and will always go with quality check for all future inspections.

Tom is straight forward and honest which goes a long way with my husband and I. So much so, we actually used him for both inspections. At the end of each unit including basement’s and attic’s he briefly goes through his findings before moving on. After my father in-laws inspector took about 30 minutes for his building purchase I was left unsettled and unsure. 4 months later we’ve come to find many issues and uncertainties. That led me to do a ton of research and I’m glad I did. The reviews for ‘Quality Check Home Inspection’ were great and stand true!

Tom was knowledgeable, responsive, helpful, friendly, all things you look for in a service industry partner. It is clear Tom has many years of experience, and also provides great recommendations in regards to home repair. He was super easy to work with, scheduled my inspection right away, even worked with me on the price. Tom exceeded my expectations for a home inspector. It was my first time buying a home and i didn’t know much about houses. I called Tom for an inspection and he gave us an honest, professional and thorough inspection. It turns out the house would’ve been a money pit if we did buy it. Thankfully we didn’t and I called Tom again to do another inspection on another house. He makes sure he is very thorough and that you understand everything on the inspection report. If you have any questions he will be more than happy to answer them. I would recommended him to anyone buying a home esp new home

Tom was polished and professional. I purchased an older home and needed a home inspector who was truly dedicated to his work. Tom is your guy! He was extremely thorough, meticulous with his attention to detail and took his time to really go through the whole house. I now know what I’m buying with confidence. Tom was the inspector for the home I’m selling as well and he caught things my other inspector didn’t! Highly recommend!!
