Do I need a prescription for physical therapy? Patients with Medicare will require a prescription from their MD before the initial evaluation. What kinds of conditions do you treat? We specialize in treating the geriatric population with neurological conditions that result in the loss of function due to loss of balance, gait abnormality, difficulty with transfers, decreased strength or a fall at home.
Physical Therapy services through AAHPT House Calls are considered outpatient therapy by Medicare and most private insurance carriers. The cost of your therapy session will be the same as if you were to attend therapy at an outpatient facility. All co-pays are due, in-full, at time of treatment. If you choose not to use insurance, payment for physical therapy services can be made out-of-pocket at time of service.
Advance at Home PT is a clinician owned and operated agency based in Long Island. As we continue to grow and develop, we are always looking to hire passionate Physical and Occupational Therapists to perform home visits throughout Long Island and Queens. Prior Home Care or Outpatient Experience with seniors preferred.
We have been serving the home health community since 2002, and have developed a specialty in working with the Geriatric population. My 86 year old sister had complicated back surgery 7 months ago and could barely stand after having been in rehab for three weeks. She progressed slowly and could barely stand with a walker. She is a very active person and she was upset about this. I found the this agency on the internet and with only a prescription from the orthopedist, therapy was immediately started. Her therapist was so patient and encouraging and he always came, even on the snowy days. She can now walk slowly unaided with a walker and he had her practice walking with a cane. Her allowable Medicare sessions have ended and hopefully
