Services
The San Mateo Acupuncture Center is dedicated to creating an environment that embraces wellness and serenity. It is important to us to develop and foster a trusting, healing partnership with you. By approaching every day with an open mind and open heart to treat each patient with compassion, we are able to deliver the highest degree of integrity and care.
Electrical stimulation, also known as E-Stim is a method in which the needles are connected to a machine which sends microcurrents to the areas that need extra stimulation. By doing so, more qi and blood are brought to the area, to nourish and unblock areas of the body which have become deprived of nourishment.
Cupping is another modality of Chinese Medicine which uses glass jars to create a vacuum/suction on certain parts of the body. When qi and blood become stagnated (stuck) and are not flowing smoothly, a blockage in the flow of qi and blood occurs, and one will feel pain. Cupping breaks up the stagnation, brings new blood to the area to nourish the muscles that have been deprived, allowing for the free flow of qi and blood.
We are in network providers for many insurance companies, including Anthem Blue Cross, Aetna, Blue Shield, Cigna, United Healthcare and many other networks. We also accept Worker's Compensation. I have been a patient for about a year and really enjoyed my time with Angela. They take my insurance and I typically have a $20 copay. Today was my first day being seen in the new year, I was pulled back right away and had a nice first visit with Minal.
I think I am all good, on my way out to pay my copay. Front desk assistant informs me *after* the fact, they cannot verify my insurance due to their network errors but they can charge me the $95 self pay fee and email me tomorrow if my insurance does cover it and possible do a refund. What? I let her know that my right as a patient includes transparency

Angela is amazing! I've been treated for years by her and she's an authentic healer/magician!
I can't recommend Angela enough.
She's healed me from bursitis, pinched tendons, shin splints, and many other things. Even just going to get the Qi flowing is beneficial.
Don't delay, you'll be glad you didn't!
