Hampar "Henry" Shahinian was a renowned diamond setter on 47th Street in the New York City jewelry district in 1969. His passion for creating exquisite jewelry and his eloquence with the public sparked his interest in retail.
In 1980, Henry founded Special Designs Jewelers, where he manufactured his own models and displayed them in public. In 1983 his daughter, Tatiana, joined his endeavor for the retail aspect of the jewelry trade. After six years in New York City, they decided to move the business to Spring Valley, N.Y.

Apparently most of these reviews have mistaken this place for an online-only store out of Texas. I've been using Special Designs Jewelers for about a decade now and couldn't be happier. I trusted them with my wife's engagement ring and also both of our wedding bands. Their customer service is incredible, highly recommended.

Trust no other jewelers. I have known the twins since around 1997 when they were in Spring Valley, NY. They are fair and honest, and I don't trust anyone else but them for my stuff. I have bought engagement rings and wedding bands (2 wives), recommended friends who have also purchased them. I shopped around EVERYWHERE for quality diamond at a reasonable price. No one came close. I've purchased watches, chains, charms, rings, earrings for the wife and a host of other things. In addition, they recently took and old gold nugget my wife had and made it into a beautiful pinky ring with a heart. I will

Special Designs Jewelers is the BEST! (Not to be confused with the China based Special Design Jewelers online website) This is an amazing family owned and operated business. The Shahinian family is extremely knowledgeable and kind. They go above and beyond what is expected and needed. I have purchased numerous items.. including engagement and wedding rings. This is NOT the same company that is scamming people for the Jesus ring!! They have a similar name to that other company, but they have no affiliation with any Jesus rings and do not sell their jewelry online!
