I was warmly welcomed today when I decided to go in and look around. I have been admiring the delicate necklaces layered so beautifully on the necks of New Jersey women lately and thought maybe this store might have some nice necklaces. After reading the positive yelp reviews, I decided I could trust them to resize my great-grandmother's ring that I want to wear on my wedding day. It had to be brought down about 4 full sizes, because, apparently, I have baby hands. And I am so happy I came in - it only took a week, was very reasonably priced, and now the ring looks brand new! Unfortunately, I trusted this jeweler with a ring that originally belonged to my grandfather, who was born in 1896. I needed the ring to be resized, with very explicit instructions NOT to polish off the patina. Sadly, the instructions were not followed, and this beautiful family heirloom will never be the same. Also, a small chunk of gold must have come off in their careless handling of the ring. And do you think they cared or apologized? I told them I'd never be back. Their reply? "Fine."

I was introduced to F Silverman Jewelers a couple of years ago by a friend whose family had been going to them for many years. Proprietors Stu and Chrissy and the entire staff were very friendly and helpful and created a beautiful custom diamond ring. I was so delighted with the results that I returned the following year to ask them to create another piece, which again turned out beautifully--I couldn't be happier.
