Services
Linden Hills Child Care was started in 1984 as a privately owned home child care, located in the Linden Hill neighborhood of Southwest Minneapolis, with the commitment of providing quality care in a nurturing environment. It soon became clear that there was a larger community demand then the original space could support.
The Linden Hills Child Care curriculums are based on the nationally recognized Creative Curriculum program. The Creative Curriculum is based on the belief that children learn best by doing and that true learning requires active participation, critical thinking, and experimentation. It's designed to balance student-initiated learning with teacher-directed learning by placing play as the foundation upon which academic learning is built.
Our infant program maintains a safe, loving, and inviting environment with consistent care to provide a quality experience. We feel that infants develop best when given a balance of security from trusted adults and the freedom to explore and learn at their own rate. We have a classroom size of 12 infants with a minimum of 3 full-time teachers.
Toddlers are active learners who are interested in the world around them. Our toddlers are encouraged to explore! At Linden Hills Child Care we believe that at the toddler age, children are learning the basics of socialization. We provide a daily schedule that promotes fun and exploration. The toddlers are separated into groups throughout the day for a smaller class experience.
To provide experiences that meets each child's needs and stimulate learning in all developmental areas. These are physical, social, emotional and intellectual. To view each child as a unique person with an individual pattern and timing of growth and development. To design interactions and activities to develop each child's self-esteem and positive feelings toward learning.

I've been reaching out to daycares for when my child is older, knowing that waitlists in MN can be over a year long. Most centers I've contacted have been very helpful and offered tours or informational conversations despite not having current openings. That wasn't the case with Linden Hills who essentially brushed me off (first response was just "we're full, best of luck" when I pressed for more info I was directed back to the website that didn't have any of the details I was looking for). They gave the impression that they have very little interest in welcoming new families which is too bad bc

I had the privilege of teaching at LHCC on and off for over 17 years prior to opening a center of my own. This is an excellent school - as is eveidnced by their outstanding reputation and 35 years in operation! If you are looking for top notch childcare in the Linden Hills area for your infant, toddler or preschooler look no further:)

I have gone to LHCCC for 2 years and have been very happy with the care. We have been in the infant and toddler room. The infant room had amazing staff. You could tell they truly loved their jobs and care about your baby. I echo the other reviewer's comment about helpful suggestions. They provided sincere feedback without ever being judgmental. I always felt very comfortable leaving my baby in their care.
The center is in a basement of a church so was not built for a childcare center. It is not the best physical space I have ever seen, but I was more concerned about who would be holding and caring
