Cathy Pierce and Jenn Houck have come together to form root SUP & Fitness, a fitness and wellness studio located in Shepherd's Old Field Market in downtown Leonardtown, Maryland. Cathy and Jenn instantly connected over 10 years ago when they first met in a spinning class. They developed a close friendship, bonding over being moms, comparing their multiple surgeries, drinking red wine, and mostly, working out together.

We launch out of Leonardtown Wharf and offer lots of different styles of classes/events/workshops! Private Parties are great for Family Events, Birthday Parties (Youth/Adult), Team Building events, and so much more! This class combines core, cardio, and strength training while on the water! We incorporate paddling and intervals with squat, lunges, push ups, etc to improve overall strength and challenge your entire core.
We have classes in the studio such as rootcamp, mat yoga, aerial yoga, TRX, Core, and much more. Classes are scheduled for early mornings, mid-mornings/lunchtime, evenings and weekends too! We have Drop In passes, class packs, and monthly membership options. One of root's specialties is Personal/Small Group Training.
Now is the perfect time to get outside and focus on your health! Small Group is always capped at 6 people so we can watch form and offer plenty of options! Core and joint stability combined with safety will get your the results you've been seeking! Now is the time!. Small groups are usually between 3-6 people.

If you haven't been paddle boarding, GO!!! We went today for the first time and had a great time!!! We scheduled a private session for our family of 4 and we were able to learn how to paddle, turn, do some Yoga poses and other fun tricks. We're all excited to go back and SUP again. My children are 11 and 13 and they caught on quickly. Teresa was great at meeting all of our individual needs and levels of talent. She really knows the area and all about SUP. I highly recommend her and Root!
