When I decided to put my son in karate. I heard good things about Ernie Reyes World Martial Arts - Austin. We have been here for over 2 years & he loves it. I cannot tell you how impressed I am with not only the structure of class, but the instructors themselves. ERWMA wants students to learn to teach others, which is wonderful for leadership training.

Services
All Ernie Reyes World Martial Arts instructors are certified black belts within our Association. Senior instructors are required to recertify annually at our headquarters in Campbell, California. You can be sure you will receive the highest level of professionalism and care from every instructor at our school, with classes geared to each group (Little Dragons, Juniors, Adults, and Black Belts) and each rank within those programs.
Wiggles and giggles. Shyness and boldness. No matter what your four- to seven-year-old does on the mat, the Little Dragons program will meet your need. Our curriculum is served up in small sessions, perfect for the attention span of our youngest students. With a mix of kicking, punching, and calisthentics-and a big dose of fun-our Little Dragons program is a hit!
You raise your child to be respectful and grow in self-discipline. We are here to support and complement your efforts! Our students learn good citizenship as a part of their martial arts training, displaying kindness at home, school, and "everywhere we go"!
Whether a preschooler or elementary-aged, our students build confidence as they take on age-appropriate leadership tasks, such as leading a warm up exercise or sharing how they displayed good citizenship at home or school during our weekly mat chats.Young bodies need special attention-they can't do everything the bigger kids can do and making exercise fun is essential.

At such a pivotal age (8-13), young people need all the support and encouragement possible. Martial arts gives them a fun and challenging outlet to strengthen their bodies while building the confidence that helps them traverse the "tweens." Students in this age group are growing rapidly and martial arts is a great way for them to build strong and flexible bodies in a healthy, safe way.

The team of instructors at Ernie Reyes Lakeway are nothing short of *amazing*. Watching them teach our 4 year old daughter and the other kids is almost like watching a magic trick. The kids, whether they are shy or not, athletic or not, well-behaved or not, all of them end up learning so much, improving their martial art, and having *lots* of fun. But, it isn’t magic. It’s patience, kindness, respect, expertise, and high, healthy expectations which the instructors apply every day, every class, to every kid, without fail. Maybe the instructors’ consistency, to a person, in upholding these

We love the program here. Our son started in the Dragon program and he did really well. They let the kids go and advance at their own rate through repetitious skill drills that include punching, kicking, blocking, self defense, and eventually sparring. Our son also did XPT and with that program he also did weapons drills and gymnastics. He really enjoys it. The teachers and instructors for the dragon program and really nice and keep the class moving so the kids don't get bored and continue learning. Now that our son is a color belt, the class is a bit longer and the program is much more structured

My son has been training at Ernie Reyes West Coast World Martial Arts since 2010. I joined him in 2011 after I turned 40. We are both now second degree black belts in the system.
This studio and system has some unique advantages over others. As part of a national association led by Martial Arts Hall of Fame member Ernie Reyes Sr., the curriculum is very practical, constantly evolving and improving, and quality of both technique and teaching is closely managed. This is true all the way from the Little Dragon (5-8 year old program) through to the Mastery (4th and higher degree black belt.) While

Each of my children started with Ernie Reyes when they were 4 years old and every since then (8 years later) it has been such a fantastic journey! For example, I have had Teachers and Coaches alike tell me how they can tell a difference in how both of my boys act/behave/focus in the class room and on the field as a result of their martial arts training.
About 7 years ago I decided it would be 'fun' to do martial arts with my kiddos so I joined as well. Little did I expect it to COMPLETELY change my life - on multiple levels!!! I am now one of the black belts at the school and am so incredibly

I love this school. There is a family feel to this place that makes the experience of being a part of this school even better. The instructors know what they are doing, and really seem to care about their students on a level that goes beyond any other school that I have looked at. The manager here is amazing as well, she's welcoming and more than helpful on every occasion. From little 4 year olds to adults of all ages, this place really knows what they are doing when it comes to training and teaching marital arts. I'm thankful every day that I decided to join this school.

I cannot say enough about this school or it's curriculum. Well rounded teaching that constantly improves based on input from master instructors of all disciplines.
Over the years of her training, I have seen a marked difference in my daughter's confidence and presence. As I started training with her, I could feel the bond not only with her, but with the entire studio family.

My son started this program as a third grader. He is now seventeen, a black belt, and he believes that this program transformed him. The teachers have played a pivotal role in his growth as a martial artist and more importantly, as a person. This is a family that is invested in the student's mental, physical, and spiritual growth. I cannot thank the KJNs enough for the role they have played in my son's live. I would highly recommend it.

Ernie Reyes is truly a family business where I and my sons have enjoyed martial arts and cardio kickboxing classes for years. The instructors are remarkable athletes as well as exceptional people. You won't find a better place to learn, grow, and start your journey to becoming a martial artist! I highly recommend them for any age and level of experience.

I have had a daughter in Ernie Reyes or the past 7 years. She is now a 2nd degree black belt and has gained so much from the program. The instructors are great, they know how to relate to young children yet challenge even the most advanced martial artist. The program has taught my daughter valuable self defense skills, grappling, forms, and most of all philosophy of how to live a life of honor. I highly recommend Ernie Reyes for anyone looking for a good program for their child or adult.

We love this school. From the moment we walked in the door over a year ago - new to the Austin area having just moved from out of state - we were warmly welcomed and immediately made to feel "part of the family". The sense of community is rivaled only by the caliber of instruction. Both of my kids have flourished - growing both as martial artists as well as in their sense of self. I highly recommend this school.
