I want to start off by saying that this is a nice hotel. It is clean and located very close to shopping and restaurants. The sad news is that is very poorly managed. Let me point out that we booked our reservation on the hotel website and not any 3rd party booking engine. Arrived for our reservation and they could not find our booking. Somehow it did not show up in their system. Luckily they were able to accommodate us for the night and we would have to be switched to a new room the next day. Inconvenience to say the least as we were traveling with children. We were escorted to our accommodation

My sister was just married at El Monte this past weekend, and we absolutely loved everything! The staff is so very friendly and accommodating! We could not have asked for a better venue for a wedding! From the valet parking to the front desk and the restaurant staff, everyone was friendly and so very welcoming and happy for help at any moment! Highly recommend staying at El Monte any time you are in Taos!

The best kept secret in Taos!

First, it's off-season and they are open with welcome arms. Many places are closed after Thanksgiving until the more profitable holidays come to play. This place staffs like they're full yet you can have a peaceful dinner at the table if your choice.

The three folks who are working are delightful. They waved me in, brought me a menu and made great recommendations. I come to Taos for the chili, so asked for recommendations and I got great ones. The result - green chili and mushroom flatbread - pure perfection! Great wine list and cocktails too!

Really wanted to like this place better. They are short staffed, which I'm sure is stressful for all of the staff here, but they couldn't clean our room at all in our 4 night stay (with our kids). We asked some house cleaners if they could clean up a bit, and all they did was put fresh towels in our bathroom. We had to call the front desk to make sure we had enough toilet paper. I mean really?!? Why are they over booking guests if they don't have the capacity? We spent a LOT of money to be here and it's super disappointing. The restaurant wasn't open, and their pool was

I'm not sure what you might expect for a hotel room costing $450 per night (plus resort fees), but we expected a room with housekeeping services and a safe, convenient place to park our car. Sadly, we were not informed when we booked our stay, nor when we checked-in, that the room would not be made up or cleaned. We were also not told about a large, noisy wedding party staged on the lawn outside our room. We were required to valet park our car because of the wedding and lack of adequate onsite parking. The last straw was being stranded without our car when the valet failed to show-up for work

Very disappointed in my stay. I had high expectations but at the same time never expect anything and you won't be disappointment. Anyhow I was very disappointed I don't think the staff was on point probably misled by management. If a place doesn't run properly you gotta look at higher Management usually the ( GM ) first and see what's going on there, get rid of the bad apple and then restart.

My favorite hotel I have ever stayed at. Really beautiful. The property is breathtaking. My boyfriend and I got a premier suite and there was a pear tree in the backyard. Really a great experience staying here. Also loved the pool with the inside mini "jungle"

I am honestly shocked to see anything but 5 star reviews for this hotel...it was about as close to perfect as any place I've ever stayed. (And I've traveled extensively.) Every staff member we interacted with over our two day stay was extremely friendly, helpful, and professional. Our Mayan Casita was lovely and unique, and it was incredibly convenient to have a personal shuttle to the downtown area. Sadly, the restaurant was not open for dinner since it was not a weekend, but the breakfast was fresh and delicious. (Wonderful pastries and the most amazing parfaits I have ever had.

Our family started our visit to Taos at the El Monte Sagrado Spa. Nancy did a great job explaining our treatment and she was particularly skillful in providing us a wonderfully relaxing experience. My teenage sons and I thoroughly enjoyed it. While I waited for my sons, Ellen was super helpful sharing with me her favorite things to do and places to eat at Taos. Both ladies contributed to our lovely stay at the El Monte Sagrado.

On entering the El Monte Sagrado I was greeted by a lovely young man who walked me to the spa where I had a massage scheduled. Lilly, warmly greeted me and showed me around the spa. My massage with Nancy was exceptional. She listened to the concern I had with my shoulder and gave me much needed relief with the pain I was experiencing. I was grateful to have a massage with Nancy and spend time at the beautiful spa.

Very Disappointing...
95% of amenities stated in the description did not exist. Although I had a confirmed restaurant reservation, when I arrived I was told that the restaurant was not open. Although I was told on the phone that there was room service when I arrived there was no room service. No pool, no spa, no limo service, no valet, no concierge, no bathrobes, no place to buy snacks or drinks, missing bathroom supplies. I was told that it was the poor descriptions of hotels.com, not the hotel. Staff need to be trained to not just say no or they can't. Also, I got sick of looking at dead

Lovely stay! This is a beautiful property with warm, friendly, and accommodating staff. We stayed in one of the Premier Suites (Tibet maybe) and in retrospect I wish I had just gone with the Native American 1 bdrm due to location. The premium and global suites are quite a distance from the parking lot and restaurant and the walls were thin. We could literally hear the folks conversation next door which is off-putting.
We really enjoyed room service breakfast, dining in the restaurant (amazing chicken enchiladas) and the close proximity to the plaza.
I agree with other comments on the amenity fee

This place is gorgeous. The room I stayed in was massive and the view was beautiful. The king size bed was incredibly comfortable. That's about all the positives I can add.

I agree with other reviewers - it makes no sense to charge a $27 resort fee ($25+tax) when the amenities are closed. Understood - covid precautions mean the spa and pool and jacuzzis are inaccessible. What am I paying for then?

They provide one tiny vial of body wash, moisturizer, etc. for two guests. The room was pretty barren when it comes to surplus supplies - no additional blanket etc. The restaurant is closed on

Phenomenal property and service.

The resort is tucked 5 minutes off of the major plaza of town. It was so close we even saw people walking to and from, just keep in mind how dark it gets at night.

This resort is a little piece of Taos paradise. Tons of green space to walk, sit and enjoy. The design is truly immersive. We loved bringing a bottle of wine to the lawn / fire pit area at the end of the night.

The property reached out to me the day of arrival to ask our ETA for check in. We were walked to our room to not get lost on our way. They provided a number for us to text if we needed anything

We spent 3 beautiful days at El Monte Sagrado. First of all the staff is genuinely warm and friendly. The room was comfortable and spacious, especially the river rock walk in shower and corner fireplace. We had several meals at de la Tierra where Sierra and Delores made sure everything went perfectly. And the food was sublime! Especially enjoyed the cured salmon for brunch. The Anaconda Bar offered half price margaritas and discounted snacks at happy hour. Awesome bartender and lively crowd.

Enjoyed spa treatments in their beautiful rustic spa building where Rebecca tended to my sore leg (Staurolite

Who knew off the plaza would be this hidden gem surrounded by aspens and nature. We were working in Espanola and heading to Taos when I received a text from the hotel welcoming us on our upcoming stay.

We responded and because we were a little ahead of schedule we asked for an earl check in. They immediately replied and let us know we could check in early. We followed our navigation which took us into a secluded oasis. This place was just beautiful. The driveway is small and parking is limited.

Checking in was a whole other experience! You are invited to have a seat at a desk where the guest
