Services
Founded by Cary Quashen in 1997, Action specializes in treating those suffering from addiction to all drugs, including alcohol. We offer three levels of care: Residential, Outpatient, and Partial, which is a hybrid of inpatient and outpatient care. In-network insurance funded inpatient and outpatient drug and alcohol treatment, since 1997.
Cary Quashen is an alcoholic. When Cary uses drugs and alcohol, he loses control himself and becomes addicted. He knew that he needed to change his ways and stop using to be happy and to be successful in this world. Cary's life went from bad to great. Cary & Kirsten Quashen founded Action Family Counseling in 1997.
The Action not-for-profit has been helping to bring struggling families back together for the last 20 years. Many families find themselves in "stormy" situations when their adolescent goes through the difficult period of development.
These crises are often accompanied by rebellion, drug and alcohol abuse and dependency, poor communication, low self-esteem, disrespect for authority, lack of motivation, academic problems, and conflicts associated with divorce, death, peer pressure, and the stress and strains associated with living in today's society.Learn more at www.actionfamily.org.

In 1989, Quashen founded the Action Family Foundation, a not-for-profit organization which helps troubled teens and their parents. Action Family Counseling has assisted countless families throughout southern California in the years since it's birth. The foundation offers several parent and teen support groups, where parents and their teens spend an interactive hour with our staff and volunteers.
Action Family Counseling offers Intensive Outpatient Treatment, Rehab Treatment, and a hybrid between the two known as Partial day treatment. Since 1997, we've provided help to those in need in the Los Angeles, Ventura, and the Kern County. We lay the foundation for recovery for you or your loved one if you/ or they are in need of help for drug addiction, alcohol addiction, mental health and/or dual-diagnosis.

This place has got me clean and sober. I'm very thankful to Carrie and all of the action staff! This is a great place to go if you are trying to get clean or sober. The staff is very friendly and is professional, it help me get time under my belt and has allowed me to live a better life than I have had in the past where I could only scramble up a couple days if that. Carrie ( which is the owner ) is very interactive with the family and clients . Id really recommend this place! - skylar L

I completed five units in school at the treatment center and when I went back to high school I couldn't get them to cooperate they just were too lazy to send the transcripts so I had to do a month worth of high school classes over and it wasn't just once I transfer to another school and they sent for the transcripts and they just would not respond I don't know how they can have a licensed school that does that probably should contact the school district they screwed up and it should be held accountable. the santa Clarita house.

My son needed help badly, but I knew something else terrible would have to happen first. Well, it did. I found Cary Quashen and Action Family Counseling after doing extensive research. Actually, my son landed first at The Henry Mayo Hospital, and met Cary there. After escaping Henry Mayo, 3 days later he went to Action Family Counseling in Piru. Thank god!!! He just celebrated 2 years of sobriety!!! In the last year, he got an apartment, job in a treatment/rehab center, drivers license and a car. He even gets health insurance from his job! And he just turned 21!!! He's got all the

This facility was one of the last opportunities we had to receive help from my son. We spoke with someone named David over the phone we gave him all of my son's history. I made the four-hour drive to their facility in Santa Clarita and arrived at the facility at 10 p.m. . My son felt very comfortable there I was happy leaving there. I received a… call the following morning that my son was having some difficulties. I gave them some advice on how to address him within 30 minutes I received a call back saying that they would not be able to help my son. They said that they we're not equipped

Then years later when my daughter was making bad choices I called Carey and he gave me great advice and the tough love worked miracles. My daughter is a college graduate and doing great!
