TJ Auto Repair

I've taken both of my cars here. They've done good work in a timely manner. Really appreciate being shown the broken parts afterward to see what was fixed.

We've used TJ's for a long time now. While they do honest, good work, the cars have not always been ready when promised, the level of English is hard to understand, and they have yet to call us when the car is ready, leaving us to guess, and then we come and it's not done. I appreciate the fair prices and good work, but the communication needs to improve.

If I could give TJ Auto 10 stars I would! I first went to TJ Auto when I moved to Chicago in 2017. I didn't like the an astronomical quote for work I was given on my Jeep, and TJ was recommended by a friend. He charged me a fraction of the cost and explained everything to me, including the fact that some of the issues the other mechanic mentioned were not problems at all. From that moment on I knew I would drive out to Wheaton anytime my Jeep had problems. Eventually, I got rid of my Jeep (catalytic converter theft was too frequent), but today I brought my friend's car in for a heat shield issue

If there was a sixth star to give, this place would get it! I learned very quickly from TJ Auto that both my front and back brakes had to be fully repaired. I was quick understand the situation, but suffered a drop to my stomach. It was then I asked for an estimate and I was so pleased to hear what it would cost. When I called back later to check on my car's brake job, I learned of newer bad news about the condition of my brakes. This is the best place I have ever brought my car. Both my husband and I had a lot of work done to our cars and the owners were very friendly, super flexible with pick up and drop off of our cars, did amazing work on our vehicles and the prices were super fair! I would recommend JT Auto to anyone looking for quality service! From this point forward this is where we will always take our cars.

Requested a basic oil change and was allowed to drop off the car and come back later. It was easy and inexpensive. Thank you.

What an honest owner. Can't say enough. I had a rattle in my trunk. Firestone charged me to "fix" it and started happening again. I took to TJs, he fixed it and didn't even charge me because it took such little time to fix the problem. Will definitely go back again!

I called ahead to bring my car in. I was told to bring it in the next morning. When I came in the next morning, apparently there is no availability and the guy I talked to yesterday isn't even in for the day. No other communication but "Come in Monday". I don't know what stellar customer service other reviewers have received because I did not get it.

They are the most honest mechanics that you can find! I always recommend friends and family to go here.

This place is fair, quality, and affordable! They replaced my rotors for me quickly and at the best price around. I was warned that my back calipers potentially needed to be replaced as well, but once he took a look at them he cleaned them off and oiled them up and they ended up being fine. A perfect situation where he could have told me/charged me for a replacement ($200), and I wouldn't have known, but didn't. Everyone should take their vehicles here and support quality business.

Not really a review since I didn't have any work done. I called about getting a radiator recored and was told I would have to go back to the dealer. I have never heard of this, I've been working on cars for 40+ years.

Rip off artists. you bring your car in for one thing and everything else starts falling apart. dont go there!!!!!

TJ Auto are the best. I only found them over a year ago, and I am sorry I didn't find them sooner. They would have save me lots of headaches. Not only do they charge below other repair shops, they also know what they are doing, which not always true of other mechanics. What I also love about them is their complete honesty and respect. They never talked down to me because I am a female, which I sometimes had to deal with other mechanics. All my co-workers use TJ so I went with their recommendation and am very happy I did! He charges way below what the dealer would and does a great job. I even comparison shopped for a new set of tires. I got prices from several places, all for the exact same brand and model and TJ beat them all by about $200. Seriously, you can't ask for anything better.

So glad to find this honest & fair priced auto repair shop. Had lighting electrical repair that Honda quoted me for at least $250 to fix. I stopped at TJ's and in 10 minutes, they had it repaired and didn't charge me. I'll be back!

I've used these guys 3-4 times now and I'm always satisfied. They are honest and up front. They specialize in foreign autos but I've seen domestic cars in there too. My last service was an oil change and repair of check engine which they did a good job on and my cost seemed fairly priced. I'll be going back here again if I need any other repairs.

My car was leaking coolant and the likely culprit was the radiator. A gearhead friend of mine checked the prices of parts and TJ Auto replaced them for right around the same price. The cost or everything was incredibly fair.

Two months later: my car is hemorrhaging coolant. I was constantly refilling it until I took it back to TJ Auto. He found that there was a defective part on the radiator and replaced it for free, no questions asked. I will definitely be going back to TJ Auto.

I am uncertain where all of these reviews are coming from. I am assuming family members. I have been to this place 4 times and I have only had 1 good experience and that was the first time. They have supposedly fix things on my car and I had t come back multiple times because it was not done correctly. In addition to that they are suppose to open at 8 and sometimes to not get there until 10 and people are outside waiting. I went to this place because of the reviews and I lost a lot of money. In addition to that, they will set up appointments with you and turn you away when you arrive.

Great service and very respectable rates. He fixed a problem that another local shop had already charged me multiples to fix and never corrected the problem. I just referred another person here as a result of my great service.

These guys are the real deal. Located in Wheaton, Illinois, TJ Auto Repair is where to go with any auto related issue. After getting a quote from Lexus that was in excess of $2,400, TJ Auto did it for 45% of that or under $1,100...my father is a huge fan, my brother is a huge fan and now I am.

Last year my husband & I needed to replace the clutch, and TJ Auto was the cheapest option with the best reputation. They showed us the old parts and explained what was wrong with them and why they needed to be replaced, and did a great job with the work.

A few months later we went in because our car was making strange noises, and had them check it out. They explained it was the padding wearing away on some part, and that it wasn't necessary to change it and it would be very expensive to do so. Didn't charge us for taking a look, and didn't try to talk us into spending money

They do a good job on certain things. I bring my subaru and honda in for repair regularly. They did my honda brakes - excellent job, not cheap though. My subaru - they've done a catalytic repair, transmission service, etc... They don't seem to be experts on subaru's, as they did not notice some other problems, which I'm repairing at another shop right now. They are polite. Cheap oil changes, $21 with tax.

Honest People and Good Mechanics. We've been going to these guys since they had their shop in Lombard and we still go out to Wheaton for them. They have always worked us into their schedule when we needed them, they are good at what they do and they always try to keep the costs down.

Wow, the previous review was harsh! I had GREAT service today! The staff accommated me, when I pulled in, thirty minuted before close, and took care of my second car after that as well!

The staff was friendly and to me, went above and beyond. Sounds like some one doesn't know better THAN TO NOT DRIVE A CAR WHEN IT'S OVERHEATING. DUH. Not their fault your damaged your own car!

This place is great and I would refer them, and I will also return in the future.

I have had only good experiences with TJ's.

I have taken my car there for various repairs over the past few years - since they opened their business.

Not once was there a problem with communication or repair.
