Gearhead came recommended to us after our BMW X5 died in our driveway with a dashboard that was lit up like a Christmas tree. We called them yesterday evening an hour before they closed and was told to have it towed there and they would look at it first thing in the morning. They called an hour after they opened and said it was a dead battery. We had them put in an OEM one, reset all the electronics and paid a fair price for this fix. If we need more work done on this car, we know where to go.

I reccomend this place. Jamie helped me getting registered at last minute due to my car troubles. She had excellent customer service and was very polite during a frantic moment yesterday. Followed by Josh's customer service was attentive, polite manner. Gearhead really took care of me and my car, without being overpriced. This is my first review I have ever written, I am passionate about my experience here. I will definitely be a returning customer!!

I was in town on business and had my truck go dead with a possible failed alternator. I had a called Brian at 2 on a Friday with my alternator specs . I had my truck at his shop by 230 with the help of a stranger giving me a jump to make it over to his shop a 1/2 mile away . I drove in and he jumped right in and had me back on the road by 330. I can tell you that a company like this is worth more than a 5 star review . Really helped me out in a pinch and I’m not even a local . Highly recommend this company and the service is top notch . Thank you again !

Brought my Series 3 BMW in because it had a bad catalytic converter. Repair estimate for that issue and others issues they promised to repair (such as driver side window not automatically going up when button pushed) etc. was $3000. After almost a week I picked up the car and the damn catalytic converter had not even been worked on! Then they claimed they needed $800 more to fix that. I will never never ever take another car of mine to Gearhead.

Good honest folks here. The only place I'll bring my cars in for repair. They do both foreign and domestic with ease. And it's always fixed right! Great place to drop the car on the way into the city via train how's the shop is a short 30-second walk to Glen Ellyn station! to top it all off if you are in the market for a good solid used automobile, they can find it for you!

My first experience was an excellent one. Needed a new trustworthy group working on my Audi A-4 and found it here. Brought it in needing work on my exhaust system and a standard 80k servicing. The initial report back also had a possible substantial oil leak. I approved the repairs. When I picked it up, the leak wasn't what they anticipated and the cost was several hundred dollars less that what I approved. I never would have known and would have not so happily paid the estimate. Honesty and dependability are everything and I'm convinced I found both in Gearheads.

My initial impression here was very good. I brought my z4 to check the engine light. They found a problem, plus a couple of non related issues. Got 'em all fixed today. Took the car at 8:45 am and got a call from the shop that the car will be ready for a pick up at 4:30, and it was. Kudos to Gearhead Auto Repair.

These guys are great. Unfortunately, our two cars haven't cooperated with us lately and I have been to three different auto-servicing shops. Two large dealerships and Gear Heads.
Gear Heads is the best, by far. Two main differentiating factors.
1. Trustworthiness: this is the first auto-repair shop where I felt they knew exactly what needed to be done, explained it very well and explained the costs. They told me stuff that could be fixed, but wasn't urgent and could wait to see if it got worse. Honestly the first time I felt like I got a square deal leaving an auto repair shop
