I brought my car here last Spring for air conditioning not blowing cold, hoping it just needed a recharge. They told me that I needed to replace my evaporator, which was a $1,500 repair which they could do for $1,200. I asked if they could just try charging up the system and hopefully buy me a few weeks since I was about to leave on a road trip, and the guy laughed and told me there was no way it would hold a charge since the evaporator was “cracked wide open.”
I’m no dummy, and I know mechanic shops like to take advantage of naive young women, so I decided to take my car to another shop

I came in and dropped my truck off for a simple wheel balance and tire rotation. Upon inspection of how they did the balance. It was done incorrectly. I had them redo it and they once again did it incorrectly. On top of that they overtorqued my wheels. They did not charge me which I guess is a good thing. However the experience was none the less terrible. If a shop can’t rebalance a set of wheels the correct way, how are you supposed to trust they can do anything else correctly. I’d highly recommend taking your car services other places.

Trusted this shop to do a total check of the car before taking it out on a long trip, even pointed out certain things that sounded wrong and specifically needed to be looked at. Paid $800 for nothing, 6hrs into the trip, the noise is still there and needed to stop. Very disappointed with this auto shop, will never be coming back.

My wife and I just moved to Naperville so we were looking for a trusted mechanic. My neighbor (who is a 45+ year hobby mechanic himself) recommended Voegtle's. Since then I have spoke with Charlie & Joe many times over the phone and in person, and they are always very helpful. I trust them.
