We were the first to have a Cremation Center, we began to offer this innovative service to our families. This gives you and your family peace-of-mind and assurance the cremation process is taking place in a dignified setting. Our Crematory and Cremation Center is clean, modern and available for your inspection.

We recognize that families today may chose to celebrate the life oftheir loved one by having a traditional visitation and funeral, a memorialservice, or contemporary gathering. Timothy William Walters, 62 of Hammond, IN. He is survived by his 3 wonderful daughters: Lacy (Aaron) Kessel, Rachael Walters, Barbara (Brandon) Warren. Grandchildren: Jacob, Austin, Sydney, Kameran, Makenzie and Cole. He is also survived by his Sister Brenda (Rich) Call and his Brother Jim (Virginia) Walters.
The death of a loved one is an emotionally trying time and, choosing a Funeral Service Provider who best suits your needs can seem almost as daunting. I cannot express how wonderful Kevin was during my family's darkest hours. From the beginning til the end he was understanding and helpful. He guided us and gave us wonderful advice. Konnie, Michael, and Laura were absolutely amazing when we had to plan services for my grandma. Through the entire process they have treated us like family. I truly appreciate everything they have done for our family and would recommend them to anyone who wants their loved ones to be treated with respect and love.

Kevin and Laura did an amazing job walking us through the burial process. My father’s death was unexpected and the care they took can’t be expressed with words. They listened to every detail and honored our father’s wishes. Even with a few issues along the way, they patiently and kindly helped us through it. Their heartfelt sincerity is felt every step of the way. Thanks again Kevin and Laura, we could not have done it without you.

From the moment I met Kevin, I knew we were in good hands. He was attentive to our desires and made recommendations accordingly. My mother had a sailor's mouth but also had a heart of gold! We celebrated her for who she was and Kevin embraced it which was beyond cool!!! I don't think I have ever laughed so much at a service before, let alone my mom's?? The premises are classy and cozy yet they don't break the bank. Compassionate, real and affordable! Thank you for making such a tragic time go as good as could be!!

My father, Wareagle, passed suddenly. I live in CO and many of my siblings live out of state. Kevin and Laura helped us navigate through the entire process with ease while consoling my mother and family. We were all impressed with the reverence and professionalism down to the last detail, even wearing my father's favorite color tie at the burial ceremony. (The Gomez family noticed Kevin!)

Kevin Nordyke and the staff at Hillside Funeral Home provided us with a very pleasant experience at a most difficult time. They answered our questions, provided cost-effective options and advice and they were willing to work with us every step of the way, even when we made changes or additions. The celebration of life turned out to be a wonderful send off and sense of closure for the family to remember. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Kevin, who is a compassionate and caring professional.

It’s difficult to compose a rating for a place of this nature because it means you’ve probably lost a loved one. In the days following a loss, making logical decisions regarding the funeral arrangements can be challenging to say the least. For me, it was nearly unbearable.
Having said that, the best decision we could’ve possibly made was going to Hillside. They went above and beyond for me and my family in ways that I will never forget. I’m grateful to them for their kindness, compassion, and heartfelt sympathy with what my family and I were going through. They even gave us time alone

We recently used Hillside Funeral Home due to their exceptional services that they’ve provided in the past with friends and relatives.
When my father passed away, I called them for help and Kevin was outstanding in helping us in our time of need.
My father’s funeral services were beautifully executed by Kevin and his staff. My father received the funeral that we envisioned, plus more.
I would also like to note that Kevin was very responsive to our requests and needs. Kevin also went out of his way to obtain the death certificate on the day that it was signed so that we could handle business
